"Courteous, prompt, professional, and in force. I had a large driveway and they tackled it in one day. They scraped it, added a new base, and put down the base and top coat in one day. They even spread out some of the soil they removed in a nearby depression adding more to my yard. They go the extra mile and clearly care. I can see why they have been around so long."

"The project required working close to the house with a backhoe which was expertly done.  It also required stone cutting and fitting which was also done with expertise.  The crew was professional and worked with us throughout the project to keep us informed of their progress and making sure that we were pleased with the work.  The finished steps, retaining walls and walkway are beautiful and we've already received compliments from neighbors for the work. <br /> This is the second project that we've hired BestHands to do for us.  Last year, they replaced an old patio with a new, larger one and added a retaining wall along one side.  We wanted a customized, curved shape for the patio that the BestHands crew were able to provide beyond our expectations. <br /> We recommend BestHands to anyone interested in hiring a team of professionals who can exceed expectations for the work they perform. <br />"

"Our foundation is around 100 years old. Maguire Masonry trenched around our entire foundation, removing pavement, concrete, dirt, trees, and stumps. They were originally planning to dig down 30" around the entire house, while removing all trees and stumps which were too close and/or growing inside the foundation. As the work started and some tree stumps were pulled out of the foundation, our basement started flooding more than usual, so Peter decided to dig that section down 6 feet below ground, rather than just the 30", put a ton of cement down in that area, and rebuild the corner entirely, at no extra cost to us. We had some scrap materials in the yard, and they used those for framing new concrete in our yard. They took all of the paint off the bricks and performed a beautiful restoration job of the brickwork. All of the work appears to be done very well."

"I highly recommend this contractor. I did not grade his cost because I didn't get competing bids (and therefore have no frame of reference), but I'm very happy with what he did and how he did it, so the value to me was excellent. His estimate was for $1600 and he stuck to that, except for the cost of some gravel after I agreed to get it: he charged me only what the gravel cost him. <br /> <br /> I called Bill and he came down the same day. He gave me an estimate, I accepted, and he did the work the next day. <br /> <br /> First they tore out the asphalt and trucked it away. It was pretty tight and he had to be very careful not to hit the house, garage, and granite wall, all of which form the driveway borders, but Bill did a great job at keeping it safe and avoiding any and quot;oops.and quot; <br /> <br /> Before removing the dirt/sand, he suggested (since the driveway was not flat) I get some stone dust and granite chips (I think it's called crusher run) to prevent runoff when it rained. I agreed, and he had his truck driver pick up a load after dropping off the dirt. After removing the excess dirt, Bill spread the gravel with the backhoe/digger and used his tamping machine to pack it down. He told me he'd take about an hour to pack it down, but he was actually out there for at least two and maybe three hours, just making sure that it was really packed down firmly. <br /> <br /> He did this extra work for free, even though he hadn't included it in the original estimate. The only added charge was for the cost of the gravel material, which was exactly what he'd paid (he gave me the receipt from the supplier). In my opinion, he did much more than he had promised and never asked for a penny more. <br />"

"I recently hired A Plus Paving to extend and seal my driveway, and I'm very satisfied with the results. The team was professional throughout the entire process and delivered exactly what they promised. The driveway extension work was done expertly - it blends seamlessly with my existing driveway and looks fantastic. The sealing job also came out great and has given my driveway a fresh, well-maintained appearance. The crew was reliable, completed the work in a timely manner, and left the area clean when finished. Their communication was clear from start to finish, and the final result exceeded my expectations. I would definitely recommend A Plus Paving to anyone looking for quality driveway work. Very satisfied with their service!"

"Preston Schmidt works alone and works harder than I can describe! He gently power washed each cedar shake on our large and complicated roof. It was early October in Minnesota, so he worked from 10 AM to 5 PM for two days on the cleaning, replacing about 6 shingles. Preston had to use lots of safety precautions while washing the roof. The roof had to thoroughly dry before he could apply the seal coating. Nature did not cooperate as it rained every day for a week. However, when we finally had two days of sunny dry weather, Preston finished the seal coating. The roof looks fantastic!"

"Call JM Stanton Contracting as a result of an Angie's list search.  He did not have any ratings but I figured I would meet with him and get an estimated for a concrete walkway.  My walkway was damaged a couple years ago by a tree removal truck that had driven over it. <br /> John was very responsive and showed up the next day to give me an estimate.  Although I was looking to replace with a concrete walkway which he quoted at $1,400, he also suggested I think about doing the pavers and granite steps for $2K.  He wasn't pushy about it and emphasized that either would look good.  As a point of reference I had gotten a quote from a large local concrete company for $2K for concrete so I knew the $1,400 was a fair price.   <br /> Since I am selling my house, I decided to go with the pavers/granite over the concrete.  John set a time 3 weeks out and kept me in the loop during those 3 weeks to keep my updated.  He arrived on time, finished on time, cleaned everything up, scrubbed down the steps by hand, planted new grass where needed, etc.  Everything was rock solid, straight and true and plumb and couldn't have looked better.  He had some leftover granite pavers from a previous job that he used as a border at no additional cost to me which really complimented the granite steps well.  He also told me that while he was working on my job he would not be "multi-tasking" with other jobs at the same time. His efforts would be solely focused on my job until it was complete.  Overall an excellent experience and I use him again in a second. John is a very laid back and personable guy who is easy to talk to and very professional. <br />"

FAQs for concrete driveways & floors installation projects in New Castle, NH

Polished concrete floors offer many benefits with very few drawbacks. While issues like discoloration, stains, or imprints may occur during pouring, these are rare when working with a skilled flooring contractor. Once polished, concrete floors are easy to maintain, long-lasting, and eco-friendly. They also resist mold and moisture, making them ideal for allergy-prone households, and offer versatile design options for both indoor and outdoor use.

Polished concrete flooring is often more affordable than tile. It involves lower material costs and less labor-intensive installation. Tile installations require additional leveling and preparation, which increases labor costs. Opting for concrete flooring helps reduce upfront expenses and provides a durable, stylish finish that saves money over time with minimal maintenance.

While epoxy flooring offers enhanced durability and toughness compared to polished concrete, it comes with higher material and labor costs. If budget is a top priority, polished concrete floors provide a resilient and attractive finish without the premium price tag, making them an ideal choice for value and long-term performance.

Polished concrete floors last 20 years or more when installed by licensed professionals and maintained with proper care. Their enduring finish withstands heavy use and remains visually impressive for decades. Regular deep cleaning and maintenance help safeguard the floor’s integrity, providing homeowners with a long-lasting, cost‐effective solution that endures daily wear without compromising style.

Polished concrete floors increase home value by offering a modern, sleek appearance and exceptional durability. A professionally installed floor not only enhances visual appeal but also minimizes maintenance expenses, making the property more attractive to prospective buyers. This flooring upgrade delivers a refined look while boosting overall market competitiveness and long-term property value.
