"Refinish exterior side of 2 entry doors using my garage as shop space. New stain & multiple coats of varnish applied. They look like new again after multiple coats of varnish applied & properly cured. New weather stripping installed as needed & doors are secure and properly functioning. I provided light assist moving/installing doors and propane heater during cold weather. Unplanned cold snap added to drying time & heat expense."

"CHI did an exceptional job replacing windows and a storm door. The cluster of 7 windows is in a brick-cladded wall, with curved oak trim on the interior. The result is beautiful--the new trim matches perfectly. What most impressed us was how careful and thorough everyone was. The crew worked together to come up with the best way to handle problems. For example, the storm door hardware didn't fit right, so they came back an extra morning to modify the wood framing. Overall, they did what was needed to get a good result."

"Lindus Construction is the best. They installed new roofing and Leafguard gutters to repair damage to our house caused by a hailstorm. The totally new roof was installed in just one day. Replacement Leafguard gutters were installed over several hours on a second day. Materials and workmanship were excellent while Lindus’ workers, supervisors and sales representative were all friendly, knowledgeable and willing to answer any and all of our questions. What really makes Lindus a standout company is how they responded to and fixed a roof rainwater leak that developed after their work on our roof – and the leak turned out to have been caused by another company who had been repairing our chimney at about the same time. Lindus’ employees immediately came to our house to inspect the area where water entered and, because it was wintertime, made plans to fix the problem as soon as it was practicable. It took several attempts to fix the problem permanently but throughout the process Lindus’ employees never doubted us and cheerfully responded promptly. After they tracked the source of the leak to chimney flashing that was incorrectly installed, Lindus’ employees didn’t hesitate to fix the leak anyway and at no charge to us. To make sure we were satisfied and knew that the rainwater leak had been fixed, they invested many hours in finding and fixing a problem that was not their responsibility. That is a company I will trust, employ in the future and recommend to anyone."

"Everything went great. I thought the doors and window would have to be replaced (which would have been very costly) but Jim was able to save them. He removed the doors, cleaned them up, sanded, repainted, repaired the glass and installed deadbolts. The doors are now very solid, secure and look great. Same with the basement window; he was able to rehab it and it looks great. He also did a great job cleaning ...sadly both garage doors and basement window were really dirty! The wallboard repair looks great and is now ready for repainting, which I plan on hiring Jim to do this winter."

"<p>Based on other reviews, I decided to have Kurt Kuhlmann of B&R Hardwood and TIle give me a bid on replacing the flooring in our entranceway, kitchen and dining area.  His bid was very competitive and he was a good listener as I told him our needs. So we went with him.  Our original flooring in the entrance and dining area was parquet and the kitchen had vinyl.  Kurt had Greg and Rob do the demolition, removing the subfloor (damaged by the glue from the parquet install) and installing new.  The new subfloor was both screwed and glued in place to minimize squeaking. They then installed porcelain tile in the entrance and closet (prior to installing the tile, they installed a barrier separating the tile from the wood subfloor. allowing the tile to dry properly, assuring a secure fit.). They then went on to removing the upper half of the wall separating the dining and living area, thus opening up the main floor allowing a view to our backyard.   Greg and Rob can do just about anything, including drywall.  They repaired the wall to which the separating wall connected.  They also repaired a hole in the outside wall that had been there due to an exhaust leading from a gas stove that I had removed.  I recently painted over the dry wall repairs and the results were flawless.    </p> <p>Kevin and Mattie came in next to install the hardwood flooring.  After reviewing a number of selections with Kurt we decided to go with Appalachian Red Oak (Appalachian is a Canadian company known for quality flooring).  They did a great job and the wood floors are gorgeous.   </p> <p>The next stage of the job was installing new baseboards on our entire main floor allowing the new flooring and base boards to blend.  Next came the installation of the ledge boards and trim on the new half wall and on the outside walls of our downstairs rooms.  The ledge board install in the downstairs rooms was particularly difficult due to the limited area underneath the window trim.  Once the ledge boards were installed a very thin strip of wall was still visible, impossible to paint.  I asked if they could somehow fill that area with trim, which they did, amazingly.    The quality of the baseboards, ledge boards and trim was excellent, both in the quality of the wood and in the stain and finish applied.  Kurt and Roy did this finishing work, both meticulous and skilled. </p> <p>Through the whole process, everyone involved did their best to minimize dust and dirt, placing plastic over all of our furniture and hallway entrances and tarps on the floors.  Their cleanups were always very thorough.  I could not be more pleased.,<br /> <br /></p> <br />"

"All work was done in one day. They removed the old roof and replaced with a new one, including the detached garage. We've had several heavy rains since then and I am not aware of any problems. I've found a few roofing nails and bits of old shingle that were missed during the clean up but nothing major. <br />"
