"My entire roof was redone in one day!. Four seasons staff are true professionals, they had a crew of 20 people working from 7:00 am till about 5:00 p.m. They arrived fully equipped and worked until roof was completed. The following day the Gutters were installed and voila!, my roof was completed and my yard was cleaned as if nothing happened. Professional service. Very happy with the service provided by Four Seasons."

"There had never been an interior leak, but maintenance staff noticed loose gravel collecting near the roof hatch and asked for an inspection before winter. The built-up roof had developed several dry blisters around the stair bulkhead, where afternoon heat was strongest. Moisture testing indicated that the insulation below was still dry, making localized repair reasonable. The blisters were cut open, allowed to relax, and rebuilt with compatible roofing materials before receiving new surfacing. Loose flashing along the bulkhead was refastened and sealed separately rather than being buried under another coating. The drains and strainers were cleared while the roof was accessible. Photographs and a marked roof plan identified two other areas that should be monitored but did not yet require work. The building received a practical maintenance record instead of an unnecessary replacement proposal"

"We’ve had the pleasure of working with Mario and his team at Best Job Construction on two separate roofing projects, and both experiences exceeded our expectations. From start to finish, they were punctual, thorough, and consistently professional. The quality of their work speaks for itself, and it’s clear they take pride in getting the job done right. It's not easy to find a team that delivers reliable service with such attention to detail, but Mario and his crew did just that. We’re very happy with the results and would not hesitate to use them again in the future. I highly recommend Best Job Construction for anyone in need of roofing work."

"My initial call to Quality received a quick response.  The roof was carefully  examined as was the siding and sagging roof overhang   I received a thorough explanation of the work needed with a detailed guide to the way the roof would be redone to insure a high quality job.  I had 3 other quotes from others  and Quality  was much more thorough.  The contractor showed me a book detailing how the work would be done.  This job is  backed up by the roof manufacturer.   The manufacturer will inspect the roof for quality of the job within 5 weeks.   Anything short of the high standards set will be corrected.  The job comes with a 25 year labor and 50 year material guarantee.  Also the warrantee is transferable to new owners if i sell the house.
I provided a small deposit and within two weeks the dumpster, shingles and workman arrived on time. They had at different times  during the day up to 9 men working.  They said the job would be done in one day and it was.  The word that came to mind while watching the men work was professionalism.  They really knew what they were doing.  I had 3 roofs to do.  When  one roof was done , one crew started to place the underlayment and remove flashing to get into corners.   The process went smoothly. There were large amounts of shingles removed and all day these were carried to the dumpster.  The roof was on by late afternoon.    The drooping roof was reinforced and the siding done while new flashing was placed around the  chimney.  They finished in the dark by 630 pm.  Sure were hard working guys.
The clean up was very well done .Tarps were placed all over and no damage was done.  By the next day the dumpster was removed.
The roof looks beautiful and has been tested  by 2 heavy rain storms.  Another positive point was a supervisor  was there to check on and off all day.
A few minor problems were followed up quickly.
This is the second time I used Angies.  The first was excellent and the second equally so.

FAQs for heating cable for roof installation projects in New Hyde Park, NY

A typical heat cable uses 5 watts per foot, regardless of the outside temperature. So, if your cable is 100 feet long, it uses 500 watts per hour. Expect to pay an additional $40 to $200 or more per month on your electricity bill. Be sure to turn manual cables off in the summer when you don't need them.

To install heat tape on your roof, place it along the lower edge in a precise zig-zag pattern to maximize coverage and heat distribution. Professional installers secure the tape with specialized clips that attach firmly to your shingles. This method ensures even heat distribution to effectively melt ice and snow while maintaining your roof's integrity during severe winter conditions.

Choosing between heated gutters and roof heating cables usually comes down to budget, appearance, and performance. Heated gutters cost less to install and blend seamlessly with your home’s exterior, making them a discreet, lower-cost option for preventing ice dams. Roof heating cables deliver more customizable and powerful heat along roof edges to handle heavy snow and ice, but they require more material and labor, increasing your upfront investment. Evaluate your roof design, winter weather demands, and energy budget to select the system that works best for your property.

Roof heating cables prevent ice dams by melting snow and stopping ice buildup at the roof edge. Ice damming occurs when melting snow refreezes on a cold roof—often right above the gutter line—and blocks water from draining, which can force moisture under shingles into your home. Heating cables maintain a warm channel that clears ice dams as soon as they form and protects your roof from water damage and structural issues.

Roof heating cables last between two and ten years before replacement is needed, wearing out faster than your roof itself. Their lifespan depends on climate severity, cable type, and exposure to physical damage. Consistent inspections and preventative maintenance—such as clearing debris, tightening clips, and checking electrical connections—can extend their service life and ensure reliable snow and ice protection each winter.

To safely remove snow from your roof, start with a specially designed roof rake, standing firmly on the ground and pulling snow downhill rather than climbing onto the roof. You can also apply calcium chloride ice melt to break up stubborn ice or gently use a secured rope from a safe vantage point.

Keep in mind that large snow slabs can weigh hundreds of pounds and pose a serious fall risk. If conditions are hazardous or you lack the right equipment, hire a professional to protect your safety and your roof’s integrity.
