It seemed like each quote from different installers was higher than the last, and many of those estimates excluded things like replacing gutters, which were removed in the process, or reconnecting exterior lighting, which would probably send the total cost to about 3x what we ended up paying. "The overall process went very well. Michael came out to my condo several times. He's very professional and he dealt with my annoying property manager very well. I was impressed Michael was able to come out in the evening so i didn't have to take off from work to look at samples and discuss the project. He even left a window with my property manager for a few days to examine! All the visits and installers came on time which in my experience is never the case. In fact the installers came early! They were very quick, they did 9 windows in a little over 3 hours. I must say these windows are the best looking windows and cheapest out of all 5 other quotes i got. I opted for the brushed nickel hardware upgrade. They look slick! There was a period of time where communication was great but there was a reason for that and it's not common. Also when i was attaching blinds after the install, i noticed window coming through the top of one of the windows. I contacted Acorn and Michael came back out and fixed the issues. He then inspected all the windows inside and out and answered all my annoying questions. During his inspection he noticed one window was missing a clip to tilt it. He came again and installed that. I honestly didn't even notice the clip, so that shows he was really inspecting and put pride his the quality of his work. Overall i'm very pleased, the difference from my original 1987 single pane windows and these new ones is night and day!"

Many contractors would either not respond or promise an estimate and not show. Dan was on time and he provided us with the estimate before he left that same day. "I purchased a multifamily house with 2 stories. The 2nd floor had 1 inch original hardwood from 1920 that laid on the floor joists so you could hear every footstep downstairs and my tenants almost moved out. I hired Cesar to take on a tedious and technical ceiling soundproofing technique for the apartment using RSCI rubber clips, hat channels, insulation, and making the 1st floor airtight. I was so impressed with how he was able to juggle handling my tenant for 2 weeks, compensating for delayed shipping by driving 3 hours to New York and picking up the materials himself to make sure we meet the deadline, redoing 1 entire room at his loss and not charging me for it because the original technique we tried did not work, and listening and working with me to make sure we didn't miss any details that would cause sound transfer (and this was impressive because I am very detail oriented). My tenants moved in and were very impressed by the finished looked of the new ceilings and crown molding. We saw a sound improvement of about 15 STC in both airborne and impact noise. It cut down sound transfer by 2/3 in the 1st floor apartment. I will be adding rubber underlayment upstairs underneath the new flooring to completely block out the rest of the impact noise that transfers from the floor above to the walls downstairs that support it! I'll be calling Cesar and his crew again."
