"I received my radon results in a timely manner. I did not hire them specifically, (so, I cannot say I would hire them again) the local company contracted them for this service. The home inspector I hired, handled this service for me and included the results in his report."

"Replacement of plumbing throughout our laundry room. Installation of new items in our furnace. Replacement plumbing in both our downstairs and upstairs bathrooms. Installation of new kitchen plumbing and sink. They were always prompt and never left until the work was perfectly completed. We have never had any problems with any of their work. We will always call Willenborg for any heating and plumbing work. HIGHLY RECOMMEND! <br />"

"Service One was a subcontractor when we had two of our bathrooms completely remodeled. They had the same plumber come out for the multiple days we needed someone during a three month project. He moved all the plumbing and installed all new fixtures. He was responsive and we could not be happier with our interactions and work completed."

"Things I liked: David and his crew were extremely polite, personable, and professional. (The "three ps" of a good contractor.) They were willing to work around my schedule, particularly because of the later start. These guys were fast...like really fast. Got my job done in a day! Everything was explained to me, and I got some instructions on care and limitations of finishing over top of their trenches. They came back to do some brief touch-up work the next day, and left everything clean and tidy. David even worked around some of the goofy stuff in my basement. You know, the stuff you might find in a 100+ year-old house. All of the various drains, services, and pipes were left untouched, which is impressive because some of them were veeeeeery close to the perimeter where they were installing the drain. Lastly, my basement is now dry. Had a deluge of rain immediately following the work and I have not seen a drop! :D Things that could be improved on: Price - I mean, a price can always be lower, but their price is definitely fair for what is included. Their system was more expensive than some of their competitors, but there were several things about it that I preferred over others. Punctuality - The digital appointment card I was sent was for 8 AM so I was under the impression that they would arrive then (or soon after). I called at 9 to check in and was told they'd be there at 12:30 PM. This was not a problem for me, but I wish I had been told that earlier. Granted, the appointment I was sent could have just be left at the default time. Either way, not a big deal, but a bit of miscommunication. Bottom line: David and his crew were excellent. I would hire them again. My basement is dry. :D"

"We had a few hiccups due to bad planning on the salesman's part, but the foreman Dillon and his crew were amazing. I am having them come back to install a second pump for our system. The foreman saved the day and went above and beyond the call of duty. I will recommend them in the future. It is worth every penny we spent on it."

"Mike and John showed up exactly when they said they would. They were friendly and professional. They gave us recommendations and helpful tips to avoid future problems. The price may not have been the cheapest but they did a great job and I trust them. They give you the price before they do the work so you are not surprised by the bill at the end. I would definitely recommend this company for any sewer problems."

"I called at 7:00 the morning after labor day, a day that weather people were calling a heat emergency. Our air conditioner had started making hideous loud rattling noise the evening before. I was told a serviceman could be at my house around 10:30 and that was when he arrived. It took maybe 10 minutes to diagnose a bad capacitor on the outdoor unit and another 10 to repair it. The air conditioner was then working, but he was concerned that the unit was vibrating quite a lot. He took some time to explain to me some options, took it apart to diagnose that problem, and told me Henson Robinson would call me with a quote for that repair. Overall I am super pleased with the experience. Fast response, professional service, reasonable cost. I would definitely call them again."

"I wish I had used these people earlier. I ordered a part for my dryer and was able through their instructional video to fix it myself. Let me tell you I am "mechanically challenged" in just about every way. LOL I may have cut myself through my own stupidity but I did it. it was easy and I did not have to pay a repair man for a simple fix. Thank you so much!"

FAQs for plumbing installation for a remodel or addition projects in New-vienna, IA

Adding bathroom plumbing to a detached garage starts with the basic line installation cost of $900 to $1,300. On top of this base expense, you'll need to budget for each fixture. A toilet costs  $250 to $550, sinks cost $150 to $800, and a shower or bathtub costs $400 to $1,900. The project will also require ventilation, moisture-resistant materials, and possibly electrical work. Remember that these costs reflect only the plumbing aspects—additional construction, finishing, and permitting expenses will apply to complete a functional bathroom space.

While certain aspects of garage renovation might be suitable for DIY enthusiasts, plumbing installation requires professional expertise. Connecting to water and sewer systems demands specialized knowledge and equipment, and improper installation can result in severe water damage, code violations, and potential health hazards. Most municipalities require permits for plumbing modifications, and these often stipulate that licensed professionals must perform work. Consider limiting your involvement to simpler tasks like painting or basic finishing work.

The timeframe for adding plumbing to a detached garage spans one to three days for the actual plumbing work. However, this represents only the active installation period. The complete project timeline must account for planning, obtaining permits (which can take weeks depending on your locality), coordinating multiple contractors if needed, and addressing any unexpected challenges that arise during installation. Weather conditions can also impact excavation and outdoor connection work.

Adding plumbing to a detached garage will likely increase your property taxes. Tax assessors consider plumbing an improvement that enhances property value and functionality. The specific tax impact varies by location and project scope. Converting a garage into living space with plumbing facilities can trigger significant reassessment in many jurisdictions. Before proceeding with your project, consult your local tax assessor's office to understand the potential tax implications and factor this ongoing expense into your decision-making process.
