"The work went very smoothly. We contacted Tony at the start of the summer, and even though he was very busy, he was able to schedule us. We needed him to install a front and side lawn on our house. Before the work even started, he recommended based on the climate and typical summer weather that we should install a sprinkler system to keep the new turf alive during the hot dry end of summer. He recommended another contractor, and Tony was able to coordinate with that contractor. The sprinklers were installed expertly. Since trees were in place before, Tony and his crew were very careful to remove all of the roots they could find. Even smaller ones that the tree stump grinding crew missed, Tony hunted down and removed them because he knew that they could interfere with the turf's growth. Tony and his crew next graded the land which was quite unloved, and brought in topsoil. They mixed in the soil, the rolled everything nice and flat. Finally Tony and his crew put down starter fertilizer to make sure that the sod could get a good head start. Tony and his crew advised us on the appropriate type of grass to get, and he ordered the highest quality sod I have ever seen in my entire life. The sod was cut in early in the morning, and was installed by noon. The crew's attention to detail was meticulous. His landscaping decisions and re-shaping the garden beds really improved the look of our house. Finally, Tony and his crew brought in wonderful hemlock bark dust to pretty up the garden beds. Our lawn looks so beautiful that we get comments from people walking by on how nice it looks. It's literally like having a fairway in front of our house. My wife and I are extremely happy with the services Tony provided, and would definitely use him again when we work on our back yard next."

"It went great!!! The day before the work was done, Dustin came by to check out the project and give me an estimate. The first thing I was impressed with is that he called me when he was about a half hour away and said he was on his way. That gave me time to be prepared. When he got here, right away he could tell the Japanese Maple had a fungus problem. He gave me quote for the work to be done on both trees and we set it up for the next day. The next day - same thing! I got a call from him and his brother Rusty telling me they would be here within the hour. (Who does that anymore....give a courtesy call?!?!) I was so impressed. They got here and Rusty went right to work and pruned and shaped up the Japanese Maple that I hardly recognized it was the same tree!! It was a beautifully done job!! He then sprayed the tree trunks for the fungus issue. In the meantime, Dustin was getting prepped to get up into the large birch. They do not use a bucket truck, but rather a harness and ropes. He was up there (I could hardly see him behind all the branches) and then branches started coming down. Before he came down he got my attention on the ground to see if there was anything else I could see that needed pruning out. I gave him the 100% beautiful job signal and he came down then. They got everything chipped up, raked up, cleaned up with barely a single flower broke over down around the base of the trees. The price was incredibly reasonable and I would recommend Tillis Tree Care for anyone who needs pruning and tree work taken care of. The price listed here is "after" the discount."

"Fine. They came to give an estimate on a day when I was working, so I didn't get a chance to discuss specifics. Nevertheless they had a good reputation and the estimate was comparable with another one I had received for the same job. They came on the day they said they would and performed the job to my satisfaction. I would have appreciated a call to let me know when they would be arriving so that I could discuss the specifics with them (naturally they showed up in the 2 hour window when I had to leave the house- they were gone by the time I returned). My only gripe was that I sent my payment check with the Angies list coupon and the 10% deducted from the bill. I then received a letter requesting the "outstanding amount". When I called to get this addressed the receptionist was abrupt and unapologetic for the billing error. The communication with the company was a little below what I would expect and the service was a little anonymous, but I would probably use them again. Ultimately I have no complaints about the quality of the work or the cost."

"Low-flow spray sprinklers were installed for the lawn and drip irrigation for the beds. A second job to install sprinklers for a parking strip was also done. Overall great work. Sometimes hard to get a hold of, but he ultimately comes through. Expensive, but no one else accepted the job because of the complexity and he preserved the entire landscaping."

"We chose to call this company because we had good experience with them on  a much larger job the previous year.  During that work Joe gave a quick estimate for the work we wanted done in the front yard.  It was more than we could afford at the time, but the estimate was reasonable and they had done well on the laurel tree nightmare in the backyard. A year later, it was time to do the front.  We tried multiple times over a 2 week period to get ahold of Joe by email and by the contact button on their website.  After waiting to hear back we called and left a message, then also sent a text.  Joe responded by text that his email was not working well and for us to send him a text with the address and the job description.  We did so but didn't hear back.  A week later we called and he apologized for not responding, saying that he would drive by the address and then let us know an estimate sometime that week. We never heard anything from them, so I assume they were not interested in the work or had just flaked out.  Since he is still in business I assume they were just too busy or the job was too small for them to bother.  The front yard is still a wreck and I grumble about it every time I walk past.  Less frustrated that they didn't want the work than by the several weeks of trying to get in touch, then waiting to find if they were going to follow-through. We'll still be getting the front yard done, probably wait for spring, but will not be calling this company for this or other work that comes up. <br /> <br />"

"This was the easiest to find and most reasonable serivce provider. The owner, Ulesis, came on Wednesday to bid the job and returned 4 days later with three hard working men. Our bedding plants became too much for us to do ourselves. In 2-1/2 hours our job was done. They did exactly what we asked which was digging out iris bulbs, digging our many other bedding plants and leaving the area looking much better even though it was bare dirt. I plan on having them back in a couple of months to plant small manageable dwarf evergreens. I am completely satisfied with the job."
