"Chuck did a shower stall installation for us today. He arrived early and got right to work. He explained things as he went along. He was very neat and clean and gave us tips on caring for the shower stall. It looks beautiful. Can’t wait to try it out tomorrow night. I would highly recommend bath fitters. Also Billy who came out to give us an estimate was wonderful! No pressure sales, just honesty, which we greatly appreciated."

"So happy to be able to use the plumbing again within 4 hours of their arrival, after dealing with repeated cleanings for the previous 10yrs which was just getting worse as the years passed. If they were unhappy to on the coldest day of the year so far, they hid it well. They did leave behind 1 of their power cords, forgot to reconnect my downspout completely, and poked a hole in the screen door, but that's pretty minor for work done that I won't have to worry about until the day I die or sell the house. They came back when I called to finish the downspout, get their cord and take away an old pipe left in the basement that they replaced. I would recommend them for replacing a sewer line to anyone, but I can warn you - they don't give free estimates, unless they can't camera your line 1st."

"Bob comes to take a look, gets his crew in, and inspects as they go along. The crew is an interesting cast of characters, as is Bob himself. Looks like a biker dude but is very nice and explains things well. They can handle any "surprises" that come their way plumbing-wise. Good response time. Can't say anything bad about them, but they are the only guys we have used, so not completely sure how their prices compare. Cleanup was good."

MARTY HALLS PLUMBING HEATING

"I am a single first-time homeowner of a few years and never needed to reach out to a plumber before. I left a message for Marty in the morning to check out seepage from a pipe in my back yard. It was very easy communicating with him via voice messages including a quick callback. We picked the date and time that week and they arrived right on time. <br /> Marty was prepared with various tried and trusted tools necessary to take proper care of the property when doing what needs to be done to work through the pipes. Marty and son were so professional, kind and informational the whole time. Soon into the work he could tell that this was going to require some additional patience and TLC to work through the problem. Although I was nervous, a couple hours later all my worries were gone and he really saved the day for me. <br /> The price was awesome, I cant afford much and I was really nervous about how much it would cost me. Marty doesn't use new techie gadgets like cameras to do his job. Marty is so knowledgeable, his talent and expertise supersedes that. And to my benefit, that overhead doesn't exist to push down to his customer. In a pluming emergency, I was really at their mercy to tell me any story and charge whatever they want. His price and work was so fair and reasonable. <br /> Down to the final goodbye Marty was kind and professional. His payment process was perfect for my needs. I'll definitely recommend him to anyone. <br />"

"We hired Russell Renovation to finish a 1300 sq ft unfinished basement. Tim, Seth and the crew exceeded my expectations. We hired them based on reading reviews online, we had 1 recommendation from a friend of a friend, and after meeting Tim he showed us 2 basements he did. They created a beautiful downstairs living space. The basement has numerous rooms - bedroom, bathroom, weight room, family room and playroom. Here are some things we would highlight based on our experience: - High Quality: the craftsmanship and attention to detail was great. My wife and I are both anal engineers. They did not disappoint. - Very Clean: they took great care to keep the entire house clean. They covered our floors at the beginning of each day and removed them at the end of each day. They used vacuums systems to minimize dust. Every day they would clean up the basement. - Professional and Courteous: All around great people to work with. Not the stereotypical contractors. Very respectful and courteous. - Works With Your Ideas: He took our ideas and enhanced them. He was open to different concepts. Helped us create an awesome layout. They are very creative. There experience buying basements was huge. - Great Contacts For Supplies - Tim told us he recommends people and businesses who have met his high expectations before. The tile retailer and cabinet retailer were very helpful. - Built Ins - Tim and Seth made some beautiful built ins. They did a built-in-the-wall aquarium, built in entertainment center, and built in storage cabinets in playroom. Impressive craftsmanship. Huge attention grabbers when people see the basement. - Cost: the cost was inline with what we expected for a quality basement. We did not know Tim and Seth before, but after they left, we felt like they were our friends. Great guys. Very trustworthy. We highly recommend them for basements or other home renovations. We will be calling them back to renovate our dining room next."

FAQs for plumbing installation for a remodel or addition projects in Niagara Falls, NY

Adding bathroom plumbing to a detached garage starts with the basic line installation cost of $900 to $1,300. On top of this base expense, you'll need to budget for each fixture. A toilet costs  $250 to $550, sinks cost $150 to $800, and a shower or bathtub costs $400 to $1,900. The project will also require ventilation, moisture-resistant materials, and possibly electrical work. Remember that these costs reflect only the plumbing aspects—additional construction, finishing, and permitting expenses will apply to complete a functional bathroom space.

While certain aspects of garage renovation might be suitable for DIY enthusiasts, plumbing installation requires professional expertise. Connecting to water and sewer systems demands specialized knowledge and equipment, and improper installation can result in severe water damage, code violations, and potential health hazards. Most municipalities require permits for plumbing modifications, and these often stipulate that licensed professionals must perform work. Consider limiting your involvement to simpler tasks like painting or basic finishing work.

The timeframe for adding plumbing to a detached garage spans one to three days for the actual plumbing work. However, this represents only the active installation period. The complete project timeline must account for planning, obtaining permits (which can take weeks depending on your locality), coordinating multiple contractors if needed, and addressing any unexpected challenges that arise during installation. Weather conditions can also impact excavation and outdoor connection work.

Adding plumbing to a detached garage will likely increase your property taxes. Tax assessors consider plumbing an improvement that enhances property value and functionality. The specific tax impact varies by location and project scope. Converting a garage into living space with plumbing facilities can trigger significant reassessment in many jurisdictions. Before proceeding with your project, consult your local tax assessor's office to understand the potential tax implications and factor this ongoing expense into your decision-making process.
