"Whole house siding replacement in October 2018 by Mustin Builders. I have had three professional siding companies come look at this for repairs and they all said the siding was not installed properly-missing crucial parts with install and not nailed in the studs. Even after 20 years I have seen siding remain on a house- not mine- literally falling off after 4 years. Unfortunate of a local company that they would put their name on this. It will continue to fall off and I will ultimately have to do a whole siding replacement. Mustin- you put your name on this?"

We are a full service company.

"Todd came to our home to review our request to do a shower remodel. Todd was very personable and gave lots of ideas and said this project should be easy (10 day job) and no more than $2K. THAT WAS NOT THE CASE AT ALL! Todd has only been to the project once because we asked him to come review the project and during that visit it was agreed that the work done was HORRIBLE. The floor was uneven, the tile was not evenly spaced and we did not get a shelf as we asked for. So Todd agreed that the whole project needed to be started over. Now new guys came to demo and retile the shower. Once the project was "finished" we were still not pleased. Todd recommended a sliding shower door and the door entry way was so small, your shoulders cannot fit through it. The floor is uneven so there are puddles of sitting water. The shower leaks through the door because nothing is level and the shower faucet was never replaced do to the wrong size. Also, they put holes through walls and need paint touchup all around the shower form the demo. Todd refused to come and fix/complete the project. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL and rude throughout the whole project."

FAQs for second story addition building service projects in Noblesville, IN

For many homeowners, building up is worth the expense because it provides the extra bedrooms or living areas that can’t be accommodated within the existing footprint. A larger, updated home often commands a higher resale price, recouping a sizable share of the project cost while allowing you to stay in the neighborhood you love. Run the numbers with a real estate agent and contractor to ensure the expected return and day-to-day benefits align with your goals.

Whether it makes more sense to build up or out depends on your lot, budget, and local code. Building up preserves yard space and involves less foundation work, but you may need to vacate the home during construction. Building out avoids staircases and can proceed while you stay put; however, it encroaches on the yard and may face setback limits. Compare both options with your contractor before making a decision.

A structural engineer will first inspect the existing foundation for cracks, footings, and load capacity. Depending on the findings, the crew may pour new concrete footings, install steel or concrete piers, add reinforced beams, or tie additional rebar into the slab. These upgrades redistribute the weight of the new floor and bring the structure up to code. Your contractor will outline the specific reinforcement plan and timeline once the engineering report is complete.
