Don has thirty years of experience in the field with jobs both big and small, and he brings absolute professionalism to the job. My husband Edward and I were very impressed with him, his crew, and the work that they did fixing and upgrading our home for us after a pipe exploded in the attic, flooding and ruining ceilings, walls, cabinets, and flooring. Don stood out from the other contractors who gave us quotes when we first began the process of recovering from the burst pipe. He was hands on, meticulously detailed, and quick in responding. He has a wealth of experience dealing with various insurance companies and emergency situations. His expert advice really helped us to maximize the amount of money we got from our insurance company with which to do the repairs. I want to tell one story which illustrates what a great guy Don is. He knew living with a section of our kitchen ceiling missing, exposing us to the cold early January drafts from the attic, was very upsetting to me. Before he did anything else, and before he even got one penny of money from us, he had his guys put up a temporary patch on that ceiling so that the house was warm and we weren’t exposed to the frigid attic anymore. That was extremely kind; most businessmen probably wouldn’t have thought and/or bothered to do that. It really meant a lot to us that he did. Don has a great personality and is a pleasure to work with. He possesses the unique ability to please the wife with high-end finishes but also keep the husband happy with price-busting ideas. He is honest about price ranges, time frames, etc. He has great taste and ideas for upgrades, but he does not try to “up-sale” his clients at all. He just listens to what you want and like and then presents you with options. Don sets the positive, professional, perfectionist tone for all his employees as well. His crew was unfailingly polite, helpful, tidy, and considerate. They took great pride in their work, as they should, because their work is beautiful. I respect them as talented artisans. They were extremely careful when they had to move our furniture and other possessions around. They were also very kind to our two dogs. When all was said and done, our home, which had been nice before, ended up being even more beautiful and functional. They installed perfect recessed lighting for us in several rooms as well as in-cabinet and under-cabinet lighting in the kitchen. The framers and sheetrock guys were meticulous about covering doorways, furniture, etc. to keep the dust from covering the rest of the home. The plasterers and painters did flawless work. The tile guys and flooring guys did such a nice job that my husband kept getting up in the middle of the night to look at it! The vertical herringbone pattern backsplashes in our kitchen are as beautiful as a work of art. All the crown moulding and chair railing they added in our den is perfect. We love every bit of the renovations and upgrades and would not change a thing! The transformation was more than worth having to live through the burst pipe! We would hire Don and his crew again in a heartbeat. In fact, we plan to hire them when we are ready to have our bathrooms gutted and redone. We know they will do a beautiful job and be wonderful to work with. Because of our great experience, my parents also intend to have their home renovated by Don and his crew. We would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone for any renovation/repair/upgrade/building project."

"Every person was professional and cordial. The estimator was thorough and explained everything well. The process took three days: one to remove the moldy part of the wall and dry the interior of the wall and carpet, then after letting it dry over the weekend, another came in to plaster, and then the next day another came in to paint and replace the vent and wood trim. He left my place spotless, vacuumed the whole room, and even took the initiative to tighten a screw on my screen door. I highly recommend this company. And if I ever need restoration services again I would call on them. Also, when I pointed out that they didn't need to remove the carpet and pad as estimated, they took the initiative to remove that expense from the invoice without my having to ask for it."

"We used A1 exterminators for several years. In the beginning we used them to change the dehumidifier filters. We started using them because the previous owners had used them to redo the crawl space and install a the humidifier. At some point we also started using them for pest control. We did their Guardian Plan from beginning. The guys they sent over were nice and courteous and always helpful. We were pleased with service until we were selling our home and records of services provided were requested and they refused to give them. We were needing information on if they had caulked some cracks in the foundation when they sealed everything when the dehumidifier was installed. I even had the previous owner call and give them permission to release this information. They accused me of trying to get information out of them that didn't belong to me. Funny thing is, there were absolutely no issues, but they were immediately defensive and accusing me of being in a bad place with our buyers. She talked over me to the point and was so rude, I told her to shut up. That was the end of anything I ever wanted to do with them. Had the owner of this company not been the rudest person I have ever dealt with in my life, I may have left them a good rating. Based on how she treats a customer of 4 or 5 years, I could never recommend them to anyone. Read their reviews yourself. Their bad customer service speaks for itself. When I mentioned this company to the buyers real estate agent, he confirmed that they weren't reputable as did the escrow company that did our closing."

"It went really well. Mike came to the house to take a shutter to match the color. The color matched perfectly what we wanted. He removed all the dry rot including areas we didn't know were rotted, removed a wasps nest we didn't know was there, replaced all the wood, and painted everything to match the existing trim. I liked working with Mike. He always kept me informed on what was going on. I will definitely use him in the future!"

"Overall, Get it done contracting did a terrific job on the remodel.
Background:The remodel was an almost complete gut of the master bathroom, to include removal of a wall, installation of a custom shower, two sink counter-top and in-floor heating.  The bathroom originally had a bathtub and two sink counter, all original to the house and cheap quality.  In addition, I required some drywall repair in the dining room ceiling to fix damage from a water leak.
I brought in several contractors (4 in total) to get estimates on the job.  All of the estimates were very similar in terms of cost estimate.  The decision to go with Get it Done. in addition to the positive reviews on this site, was based on the fact that the work estimate included getting all the proper permits and inspections required for the job.  Although the plumbing and electrical rework was not major, I knew it would require proper permits.  Surprisingly, other companies would not do that.
The work done on the bathroom was excellent.  Dave and his subcontractors did outstanding work and were very responsive to my needs.  I had family in town in the middle of the renovation, and they stopped work while they were here, and restarted after they left.  The few minor issues which came up, which is inevitable in a renovation, were quickly taken care of.  The quality of the work was outstanding.  In particular, the tile guy did an amazing job.  He was incredibly meticulous and had an amazing attention to the smallest detail.  Also, the minor drywall repair to the ceiling in the dining room showed the same meticulousness. I cannot tell where the damage was, even though it is a textured ceiling.
The work done on the bathroom included removing the drywall, putting up DUROCK, using redgard waterproofing, installing a privacy wall and bench seat in the shower, putting DUROCK subfloor and self-leveling cement on the floor, in addition to the in-floor heating.  They did drywall repair on the walls, as necessary, installed cabinets and granite countertops on the sink and installed a custom mirror.
In addition to the above, The owner's wife, Melissa, provides consulting services for picking out the tiles, accessories, paint colors, etc, if you require that.  I did, and she provided excellent advice and guidance on the choices for those items in the bathroom.
Overall, the renovation went very well, and I am extremely happy with the results.  The bathroom looks beautiful and more importantly, I am confident the work behind the exterior was very well done.
