"They were prompt for both the quote and the work. They identified fixed 3 cracks in the basement. The work was done well (3 rainstorms later and no water in the basement) and the clean up was great. Everyone was very professional."

"He communicated with me every step of the way to make sure it was exactly what I wanted. It was done in a timely manner and it turned out better than I had ever anticipated. All for a great price too. I would definitely hire again."

"It didn’t go well. They are nice guys, but communication is poor. On any given day, we didn’t know when they were going to show up. Their first attempt (formed concrete) at the repair wasn’t to their liking aesthetically, so they put a layer of brick over it. In the end, it looks ok, but there was a film left on it due to not cleaning the filler off the top of the bricks. It’s about a year later now and the film is still there. (Note that the amount I paid below is just a guess. I don’t remember exactly what it was."

"I had four estimates to tear out my old concrete front landing, steps, and two walkways, and have everything replaced with new concrete. Also added a new decorative fiberglass pillar to support the overhang of the roof over the landing, and an underground drain pipe connected to the downspout, at Chad's suggestion, because he had noticed water pooling around my walkway when it rained.

Two of the estimates came in higher (around $3800) and two (including Beachy) came in lower (around $2700).  Of the two lower estimates, I went with Chad Beachy because he seemed more professional. He also made suggestions regarding the design of the landing, steps and walkway, which I loved because this was my first home improvement project and I didn't have an exact idea of what I wanted. I love contractors who have good taste and know what will look good. It turned out amazing and I love my new concrete. The new pillar adds a really nice touch too.

They do lots of different types of projects, and I want to use them to install my replacement windows as well.

The only thing I don't like is that they can be difficult to get a hold of, either by phone or email, I assume because they have gotten really busy during the summer season. During my concrete project earlier this year, they were very responsive though."

FAQs for concrete foundation installation projects in North Liberty, IN

A concrete footer is a relatively shallow column of concrete that sits below your foundation walls. Footers spread wider than the foundation, so they can support a higher amount of weight in critical spots, such as below walls. The exact dimensions of footers depend on the home, so larger structures need a larger footing.

To calculate footing size, you need to know the minimum width and depth for houses in your region. Multiplying the width by the linear footprint of the structure will give you the size in linear feet.

To convert linear feet into square feet, you can divide the width by 12. For example, an 18-inch footer is 1.5 square feet per linear foot. Multiply this number by the total in linear feet to get the answer in square feet.

Installing a pier and beam foundation costs $5 per square foot, or $8,000 to $15,000. This style is standard in homes built before the 1960s or those in flood-prone areas.

Concrete weight support ranges from 1,500 to 6,500 pounds per square inch, and footings need at least 3,500 to 4,500 pounds per square inch. Remember that your soil type, climate, and materials used will significantly affect how much weight your footings can hold, especially in certain areas.

It costs between $1,600 and $3,200 to pour a 20-by-20-foot concrete slab. These estimates are based on an average cost to pour a concrete slab of $4 to $8 per square foot. Be sure to discuss the specifics with a pro—they’ll give you an estimate of how much you can expect.

The cost to raise a house is between $3,200 and $10,000. This range refers to a form of repair that involves lifting the entire house to potentially remove the old foundation and build a new one or add to an existing one.
