"Did a really good job. Received multiple bids for my front patio and sidewalk, Tracy Norman Concrete was the most affordable. We had some rain and cold weather, they communicated the entire time to be sure the pour was communicated during proper temps, on dry ground."

"The Normans were excellent contractors, unfazed by unexpected issues with wire in the old concrete and sudden rain deluges creating damage to the freshly poured concrete. Both issues were handled well, leaving us with a well done project. The contract price was reasonable, especially for the high quality of their work. In addition, they were a pleasure to know. We highly recommend this professional family business."

"I was very impressed. In fact, I'm going to be calling them back. He came up with some really great ideas to hide the some other things in my yard that I was very uncomfortable with and didn't like. My husband and I really liked his ideas so we decided we wanted to go ahead and go for it. He gave us a detailed estimate. My husband wanted to have it broken down even more and he was gracious enough to break it down even more. He actually had to come out a couple of times to work out the quote and even with him coming a couple of times to work out the quote, he was never frustrated and that's why I'm going to be sure to give him this business. He's a very fine gentleman. It's a very fine company. They never got frustrated with me."

"Called Bryan on a Friday and he came out on Saturday for an estimate. Job included finishing prep on an area previously started and never finished by another contractor, pouring concrete to which he added a color chosen by me, and stamping a stone-like texture, then sealing. Because he had a delay on a job scheduled for Monday, he said he could have his crew there around 8 am to start and would probably finish in a day. I agreed and at 8 am Monday a crew of 4 plus Bryan were at my home to begin. In less than 8 hours, they had the patio poured and stamped. They returned Tuesday to seal the concrete. Extremely prompt and reliable as well as professional. Would definitely recommend Keystone Concrete and Bryan to anyone for a concrete project."

"Klaus and his team created and installed an incredible wainscot that upgraded our short rental unit to an elite status. I was given great advice and all of the challenges were clearly explained in terms of moving an outlet and what the pattern options could be. Lots of great suggestions were provided and help transporting materials was done free of charge as a favor. I received the very best of help at all steps of the process. The work was done quickly and alongside other jobs and I was impressed with the coordination and care put into the project. Everything was double checked and checked again to make sure the work was done properly and matched my request. Extremely friendly and professional carpentry work completed for a very fair price that puts other bids to shame. The end result was nothing short of perfection! I will use Alyssa Flooring for all of my projects and recommend them to everyone I talk to because I know they are going to deliver better than anyone. Thank you Klaus and team!"

FAQs for concrete patios, walks & steps installation projects in North Myrtle Beach, SC

Most sidewalks rely on a ready‑mix blend of Portland cement, sand, gravel, and water that trucks deliver to your site and pour in one continuous lift. For added strength, many contractors fold in fiber mesh or steel reinforcement. This mix cures into a rock‑solid slab that stands up to foot traffic, freeze‑thaw cycles, and daily wear for decades. Expect a pro to recommend a 4‑inch‑thick pour for standard walkways.

With the right mix, proper drainage, and routine upkeep, a concrete sidewalk can last 25 to 50 years. Freeze‑thaw cycles, road salt, and heavy loads all shorten that timeline, but sealing every few years and patching small cracks early keeps damage in check. Think of sealing as inexpensive insurance for decades of safe, stable footing. In milder climates, some slabs push well past the 30‑year mark without major repairs.

Concrete sidewalks crack as a result of significant temperature fluctuations and heavy load pressures. The freeze-thaw cycles and sustained weight from vehicles or intense foot traffic force the concrete to develop cracks over time. Applying a premium sealant every two to three years and substituting salt with sand for de-icing minimizes crack formation. Regular maintenance and timely repairs safeguard the sidewalk’s structural integrity and extend its service life.
