"The representative was both very pleasant and professional. We were both replacing and adding outdoor floodlights with motion detectors. To help us save money, the electrician offered run a line directly to the light, that was not previously wired, verses going through the wall to the light switch for the outdoor lights. Since the light switch would have to be turned on all the time anyway, we thought that was a good idea."

"Excellent. Mike and his crew came only a few minutes later than the scheduled time, but he promptly notified me of his new arrival time anyway to check if the new time still works, which I appreciate. The price he quoted was reasonable to me. Because of the age of our house and the way it was constructed, things weren't straightforward as the work began, but Mike was patient and figured out a way to install the lights the way we wanted. Everyone was courteous and kept us apprised of the status of the installation. They cleaned up after everything was done and left the place the same way they found it."

"They were very professional. They had to run to Home Depot for something. I thought the job-installing a ceiling light and 4 GFI outlets for $466.00 was a little pricey."

"They came out and did a good job. I wouldn't buy it again. It was fine. I don't remember there being a problem. We still had stuff in the backyard that we had to get rid of ourselves. It was just how the deal was."

"I recieved 4 quotes for installing an irrigation system in my front & rear yard.  Some wanted to install 4-5 zones & a couple wanted to install 3 zones.  Joey said that the 3 zones would work for me, saving me some money.  Joey's price was very competitive, he showed up early to give me the estimate.  When I called a week later to tell him I wanted him to do the work, he scheduled me within about a week.  They had the work done in about 4 hours and the coverage is great.  They almost simultaneously installed irrigation systems for 2 of my neighbors.  Their response in tweeking the system has been excellent.  I'm very happy & would certainly recommend.

"We used KC Flowers to landscape our property in Conway. Their work included grading the land for proper drainage, designing the landscaping (including the selection of plants, bushes and trees), and then they cared for the landscaping after installation. We could not be happier with their work and highly recommend them. They are reliable, always leave the yard in great shape, and are wonderful thought partners when you are planning your yard."

"I recently hired Koch Landscaping to redo my entire outdoors, from flowers, to shrubs to Pindo, Sago and Palm trees. Overall I was very pleased with their service. Justin, who did the initial consultation, was very helpful with his knowledge and ongoing recommendations. The crew was professional and did an excellent job with the planting and laying of stones. The also cleaned up thoroughly afterward. I would definitely recommend Koch Landscaping for anyone looking for quality garden work at a reasonable price."

FAQs for outdoor lighting plan and installation projects in North Myrtle Beach, SC

Permit requirements for outdoor lighting vary depending on your location and project scope. Simple fixture replacements don't require permits, but projects involving new electrical circuits, extensive trenching, or significant system expansions often do. Local building departments establish these requirements, and many professional electricians handle permit applications as part of their service package.

The timeline for outdoor lighting installation varies based on project complexity. Basic systems might require only one to two days for complete installation, while extensive lighting networks with numerous fixtures and complex wiring needs could extend to a week or longer. Weather conditions, property accessibility, and soil characteristics can all influence how quickly professionals can complete your installation.

Outdoor lighting offers both practical and aesthetic benefits that many homeowners find valuable. Beyond enhancing nighttime visibility and security, well-designed lighting can highlight architectural features and extend outdoor living hours. While installation represents a significant investment, quality lighting may potentially increase property appeal and could contribute to overall home value.

Some outdoor lighting projects are suitable for homeowner installation, particularly simple solar fixtures or low-voltage systems that plug into existing outlets. However, projects requiring new electrical connections, permanent wiring, or integration with home electrical systems demand professional expertise. Electrical work carries inherent safety risks, and improper installation could create fire hazards or code violations.

The operating cost for outdoor lighting depends primarily on your fixture types, bulb selection, and usage patterns. Energy-efficient LED fixtures consume significantly less electricity than traditional incandescent or halogen alternatives. Controlling your lighting with timers, photocells, or motion sensors can further reduce energy usage by ensuring lights operate only when needed or beneficial.
