"Island Concrete LLC installed a concrete driveway for me quickly (one day) and at an affordable price. The owner, Island, was present from start to finish to supervise and take part in the job. This was very reassuring."

"Outside line from laundry was relined and an outside clean-out was installed- work was done in 2014. When drain line started backing up recently, I had a different company come out to clear the drain, thinking it was a simple matter of hair and lint build-up. They were unable to clear the drain, because they discovered that the drain was broken and filled with mud! My understanding is that a reline should last quite a bit longer than 6 years. I called NW sewer on December 29 and it's been nearly two weeks and I haven't received the promised call back from the owner."

"Jerrod the owner of Archstone was emphatic to point out that he is one of the best if not the best and a very conscientious and honest man. He said the mortar on exterior house wall is very hard and can't be ground out. Per his expert advise the best things is pressure wash and scrape out loose and damaged mortar and use sponging technique to fill in cavities with type S mortar. I understood and agreed asking for care with pressure washer. Quote was $2922 before tax. He said the wall wouldn't look much better than it does now but he would get all the places having egregious deterioration and then seal. Two days work. Moving forward his team (him and a 18 year old nephew) came and went in less than 4 hours. Sealant remained to be done and I could see that cost was itemized at $400. I personally could do it in 1/2 hour so I asked him to scratch it from the price. He was very amenable to that. The issue arose when I was sealing I found and sent him photos of spots with severe erosion that were missed and should take about 1 hour to fix. Some on wall, one in bottom corner of house, one big seam in windowsill. I sent email and photos asking for him to return. He didn't reply. 1 week later I reached him by phone and he said he didn't get the email/or hadn't read it yet but he wasn't going to come back for 'pinholes' which I could do myself. First of all I could do everything myself but that's time that I paid him for. He is too busy to come. Photos are from the south wall as discussed."

"Short version: - Extending a gas line 75ft should not cost $4000. - Fox charges for estimates. - If Fox estimates aren't accurate, they won't adjust in your favor. - Work quality is good. - They will give you an invoice that isn't itemized, making it difficult for the customer to evaluate the service, and using obfuscation to hide the fact that they aren't charging you fairly. I was initially told I would have to pay for an estimate and that the technician would expect to do the job that same day, so I should be ready to commit to the work. I thought that was all a bit aggressive but it was a good foreshadowing of how Fox does business. Pressuring the customer is in the Fox Plumbing DNA. The service providers are also the salespeople, so they are incentivized to take advantage of you. The estimate was shocking, but the technician assured me it was a difficult job, and would probably take 1.5 days. He said if it ended up being less work than expected he would adjust the bill accordingly. The job took half that time but the adjustment never happened. Fox called 30 minutes before the work was actually scheduled to be done to cancel and needed to reschedule. Stuff happens but this was inconvenient and wasted my time. Once they finally got here, the job went well and the servicemen who did the work did a great job. I have no problems with the quality of the work and the guys were pleasant to be around. I want to make that clear. If the pricing was even close to fair Fox would be a great choice. But it's not and they aren't. I do believe that Fox is taking advantage of high demand in Seattle where homeowners are finding it more and more difficult to find quality service providers at a reasonable cost. We have another property and they overcharged us there too. We are idiots for using them again but I couldn't find anyone in the time-frame I needed the work done in. Since then, I've had a chance to get other opinions, and the overwhelming response has been that I was grossly overcharged. It's clear that Fox is pushing the envelope on "let's see how much we can charge" and I can't really fault them for trying. They can run a predatory...I mean..."premium" business if they want to. I am just a fool for overpaying. I'm sure they would say that too. Another observation is that the office staff is really defensive and curt (see initial call requesting an estimate example above) suggesting that they are all getting tired of having to deal with unhappy customers. Read the other reviews and choose Fox at your own risk. The word "premium" isn't in their mission by mistake. Update: after 3 years all the joints they used are heavily corroded and will need to be replaced, so not really that premium after all."

When I started my company over 10 years ago, there were three things that I vowed to provide to my customers: quality, integrity, and style. I have been working in the Seattle area with over 20 years of experience. I take pride in my work and I believe that it is an extension of myself. I enjoy finding creative solutions and building things to last in the Pacific Northwest.

FAQs for concrete flatwork repair & resurface projects in North Bend, WA

When evaluating whether patching can address your concrete blemishes, it’s important to assess the extent of the damage. Minor issues such as small cracks or chipped areas may be effectively repaired with patching techniques that restore the surface’s appearance. However, if you notice widespread deterioration, significant cracks, or structural weakening, resurfacing is recommended as a more durable, long‑term solution. A thorough evaluation by a concrete specialist can help determine the best course of action for restoring your concrete to its optimal condition.

The optimal time to resurface your concrete driveway is late spring. This period benefits from warm temperatures and softened ground conditions following winter’s freeze‑thaw cycles, ensuring that the new overlay bonds securely and matures to a durable finish. Resurfacing at this time also enhances your property's safety and curb appeal. Engage a concrete professional to schedule your project during this ideal season.
