"Crack-X sent Tom to fix it. I am very satisfied with the work Tom did on my basement crack on July 19. He was very professional. He would inform me his lateness due to the traffic. When he’s here, he would tell me what he would do and how long it would take for each step. He finished the work just as he said. I am so glad that all is moving so smoothly. The fix has stood the tests of the last a few rains and no any sign of leaking again."

"The repairs cost $820. I was dismayed that the repair cost was this high for a piece of equipment that was only 3 years old, and had been maintained as per recommendations. "They typically last much longer" I was told by the company, but there was no reduction in the price for the repairs. I found that the company was frequently slow to respond to phone calls, and the estimated repair time of 3-4 weeks took almost 3 months."

"Expert House Movers brought a crew of 6-8 & came in late August 2013 to start the process of raising & moving the house. My husband had done all the prep work of disconnecting the utilities & removing the furnace, etc. They dug access ramps to the old foundation/basement with bobcats. They poked good sized holes around the foundation so they could put in steel beams and jack up the house. Our foundation was from 1917 & built from old creek gravel cement, so it was pretty tough. It took three & half days to jack the house & move it over the driveway. It seemed really fast to me. The only thing to fall in the house was a picture off the piano. We still had access to the house through a tall ladder to get clothes, etc. that we needed.
We took over the process of arranging excavation, concrete pouring, and carpenters with more local contractors. Expert does have concrete people & others they use in the St Louis area that know exactly the requirements needed for the new foundation.
After the basement was poured & cured (curing takes about 3-4 weeks), Expert returned in October 2013 to move & set the house. They had been in contact with the concrete man for specifications, but there were no slots for the beams when setting the house down. A concrete worker had to come & cut those slots. We had a carpenter on hand to finish the sill installment & make sure the sills for the permanent beams was correct & set the support posts in the basement. We also had a friend's tractor help Expert's bobcat pull the house back over the foundation. While all this was going on, Expert was jacking and moving supports & placing slider beams & raising & lowering the house. The process was complete in about 2 1/2 days with care & precision. Some of the cracks in our house even disappeared. Great job guys.
Our carpenters returned to build a staircase & some other requirements. We are working on re-connecting utilities & returning the furnace, water heater, etc. to the new basement. We plan to move back into the house in the first week or so in November 2013. It's been a long process, but well worth it. Made possible by Expert House Movers!
"

"We bought a shed from Sam's Club and paid to have it assembled and installed. We had a bunch of crushed rock left over from our above ground pool and asked the shed company if we could use this as a base for the shed to go on top of. They said yes. When the guy came out to install the shed, he was surprised they said we could use that base, but installed it anyway. The floor of the shed was so uneven and bumpy. I found KM Tottle on Angies list and called them. He came right out and advised us that we needed a wood base to go underneath and that he could raise the shed and install it underneath and that would level out the floor. They came on the date and time planned and the work is excellent. The floor is perfectly level. I would hire them again in a minute.
"

"As usual, Brent and his crew did a fantastic job. This area of the yard had been sinking due to formerly buried stumps and was ruining my concrete skirting. Other workmen had tried to fix it, but could not. Brent came and assessed the issue and fixed it permanently. They make concrete pilings on which to place a steel bar support for the skirting. While finishing that job he also repaired a leak that had developed on one of my skylights. All done at a reasonable price. He called after our latest rainstorm to check on the leak. That is the professional way to do things.
"

"Hazelwood was very responsive and professional. The estimate was extremely detailed and we were updated weekly as to the progress with the project. Hours, materials and every aspect of the job was detailed on the estimate. I was able to discuss the work or progress via phone, email or even text message as the job was ongoing. Chris Moon was our site manager and I was able to reach him any time I needed a question answered.
I really liked that the estimate was written in what I called "a worse case scenario" manner. Both jobs came out under what was estimated by over a thousand dollars total. That is because the hours, materials and all other aspects of the jobs were so closely monitored and we were only charged for exactly the hours needed and materials used.
The job site was left clean, no damage was left behind as a result of the work. Any paint damage that was caused by construction was touched up. The bathroom is in the same condition as it was when the job started, minus the old vanity and damaged sub flooring and joist.
All of the plumbing involved was part of the estimate and coordinated by Hazelwood.
I did reach out to the owner, Tim Spang once by email over a weekend and was instantly answered and my question addressed.
I was pleased with this company even more so since this was a totally unexpected event and expense for us. I appreciated the respect for our budget and the care that was taken to charge us only for what time, labor and material was needed.
We received a thank you note after the job was completed which was a very nice gesture.
This is a vacation home and we live 300 miles away. What a comfort it was to realize that out property was in such good hands as we could not be there to see what was being done. Chris sent me pictures as the bathroom progressed and I was able to see every aspect of the work. He even called me when there was a problem with our heater in the house and informed me so that I could send a repairman to take care of it. He offered to facilitate that and help any way he could. Again greatly appreciated since i was in New Jersey.
I highly recommend this company.

"

FAQs for concrete foundation repair projects in North Berwick, ME

Visible cracks, water leaks, uneven floors, or walls that won’t line up are classic red flags. You might also notice sticking windows, doors that no longer latch, or exterior cracks crawling up brick or siding. Even a damp, musty basement can hint at trouble. If you spot any of these, call a foundation pro right away. Early inspections cost far less than waiting until the damage threatens your home’s stability.

Yes, foundation problems impact your home’s value. Buyers want proof that the foundation is stable, and a recent, professional repair can actually boost confidence in your home. You’ll need to disclose the work, but documentation showing the structure was properly stabilized, especially with piers in regions known for shifting soil, often reads as a plus, not a problem. Skipping repairs, on the other hand, can cut your sale price and shrink the pool of interested buyers. Taking care of the issue protects both value and peace of mind.

Foundations are engineered for exceptional longevity when constructed correctly and maintained diligently. Concrete slab foundations remain structurally sound for 200 years, while other foundation types deliver integrity between 75 and 100 years. Regular professional inspections and timely maintenance further secure a foundation’s lifespan and ensure your home stays safe over the long term.
