"The project went smoothly. I had a short window in which to work as the furniture on our 1st floor was removed for another project. I set up interviews with a number of companies, received estimates, and Mike's worked out the best. They were honest about how the project saying that some old stains on the floors might not sand out; the stairs treads and risers would need to be sanded by hand, therefore would cost a bit more; and the wood used to patch would not exactly match due to age. All of this I understood since the floors were over 100 years old. They had their staff on site early on the day they said they'd start. They worked as quickly as the weather would allow and the project was completed within the time they expected. Its been almost two years and the floors still look great. I waited a while to make this review in order to see if the work would hold up and it still looks nice. Now I'm hoping for another big project in which the furniture on our 2nd floor will be removed so they can do those floors."

The team did an amazing - in a time when it can be difficult to communicate with contractors or get a call back - I was thoroughly impressed with the level of communication throughout the entire process and updates on how things were coming along. The harshest of critics has yet to find something they missed. "Wizard of Wood Floors did an awesome job! They were efficient, on time and did everything that was promised. We had new floors installed in our family room and hallway. Our existing floors in the dining room and kitchen were refinished to match the new floors. They did a great job in putting up plastic to contain the dust in the rooms that were not being done. Even after they left everyday, they cleaned everything up so we could function in our home. It was a big project, but well worth it. The end product was absolutely beautiful and we couldn’t be happier with our floors. 6 months after our floors were installed, we noticed a splinter in the floor in our family room. I called the owner, Mike Galloway to let him know. Him and his team immediately got back to me and within 2 days the splinter was repaired and my floor looks as good as new. That is true customer service!!"

"We have a rental property and the tenants dropped a hot iron on the carpet. It burned through the carpet in the shape of the iron head, so we needed to replace the spot. It seemed easier to do this one piece rather than replacing the carpet for the whole room. The day before the appointment, Exposition called to say that the installer (Jaime) might be late because he had an appointment in Highland Park before ours. He was due at 1, but they said he'd show up between 1-1:30 and would call beforehand. At 1:15pm the day of, I hadn't yet heard from him so I called the company and asked for an update, but they tried to call him and his phone was off. Finally, at 3pm I got a call and he was at the property, so I had to rush over and meet him then. That could have been handled better, but I made it there by 3:15 so it wasn't too bad. We were able to find a piece of carpet underneath a built-in closet in the master bedroom to use as the replacement piece, thanks to a suggestion by Jaime. It took him about 45 minutes to do the work, and it looks pretty good. It's a little bit off since the carpet from the bedroom wasn't as worn as what was already in the room, though. They only charged me the minimum service charge which was $125, since we provided the carpet and they just basically did labor and applied some glue."
