"Scott arrived, after calling first, promptly. He took a look at our system and ran some diagnostics. He explained what he was testing and why it was important. We were happy to learn that our dryer was performing optimally and venting properly. We live in an older house, and anyone who does knows that certain things have been "jimmy-rigged" down through the years. That was the case with our dryer vent, as its current placement did not lend itself to installing a new, more modern one without a fair bit of hassle. Scott told us how we could easily clean around the hinge of our vent damper so that it would close properly in future. He also gave us additional suggestions for some simple DIY ideas we could further implement to keep future pests away from and out of the dryer vent.
