"This organization is all about the do's and they DO it well.  Their designer has created a three-year plan for my home that, until Hillside, had NO curb appeal at all.  My late husband loved a large expanse of grass in front of the house so many of these changes have been a little painful, albeit so exciting and fun.  This is year two and the yard looks fantastic.  I have even had people at community events come up to me and rave about how nice everything looks.  The designer drove up here (approx. 40 miles) to do measurements for the plan in the pouring rain.  She has gone over every piece of it w/ me each year.  We have made some changes and I had a couple of requests that she worked into the plan at no extra charge.  The workmen clean up everything.  If there weren't these great changes in the middle of my front lawn, one would never know they had been here.  The customer service of this organization is second to none I have ever worked with.  From the owner - who entertained my grandchildren on one of my first visits there - to every other staff person I have met or dealt with - they are knowledgeable, helpful, caring, smiling - it's a fun place to be.  The weather has not always been cooperative, but if there were any changes, I got e-mails, a call, and always a most unnecessary apology for the delay in the work.  Even they can't control the weather.  All of the plantings are guaranteed for two years following the installation.  This year one of last year's plants did not come up and it was replaced the first day they came to start the new work - no questions asked.  They keep their promises.  I would recommend Hillside to everyone and anyone who wants excellent customer service, high quality merchandise and an overall great experience!"

"The crew arrived and started the work at the time agreed. When the old roofing was almost removed, the foreman of the crew, Dave Cook, approached me to show the condition of the old roof base. I knew that we may have to address that after years of small leaks that had occurred. Dave told me what my options were and how they would affect the long term results and we decided to lay down a new decking over the existing one. I was promptly quoted a price and put in touch with Becca at the office to authorize the Change Order. I had to leave for work after that feeling the I was in good hands. When I came home from work the new decking was almost completely installed and the base layer was soon to follow. I saw how careful the base layer was rolled out to eliminate any creases. It was getting late and the forecast was for rain to come in later that night. Dave told me that they would stay until either finished or at least the roof would be flashed and water tight. When it got dark, we found some headlights for the guys to were so that they could see well enough. The roof was made water tight with one bit of roofing to be adhered. There was not enough flashing in the trailer to finish without a seam and Dave wanted to finish it with a single piece. I agreed. The weather turned to rain and clod for the next week and was not able to finish until the following wee. During that time either Dave or Becca would contact me every day to let me know what the plans were so that I was not in the dark. I really appreciated that. Overall my wife and I are very please with the professionalism, quality of work, cleanup, and communication. We will definitely use them again and recommend the to anyone."

"Great workmanship in the retaining wall Mike and Steve built for me. Very professional and took extra care to not rip up the lawn nearby the work area. Also was proactive to spread the extra crushed stone material in the driveway which needed some attention. Will definitely hire again as my list of additional work for Mike and Steve is growing. "Communication is a problem with this company. When they started the job they almost put down stones instead of the river rocks I ordered. They never had a work order that spelled out the work and materials for each part of the job. When they came back to re-do some of the sod they put it in the wrong section of the yard and the owner blamed me when I called about it. I didn't tell them where to put the sod; that should have been in writing and authorized by the owner. When they mowed the lawn they mowed the sod which had not put down roots yet and that chopped up the sod. They put down sod in the very back of the yard where there is no sun ever. It all died and had a very musty smell. I didn't know anything about sod (I do now) but it turns out that sod was not appropriate for that area. It took five months before they can and removed the sod and replaced it with mulch. There are so many things that were poorly done. But I have listed the main issues."

"Our garage floor was in horrible shape and desperately in need of some attention. The salesman came, gave us a reasonable estimate and we moved forward with the job. It’s amazing to us that they were able to make our garage floor that was in such bad shape look so good. Almost a year later the garage floor looks as good as it did the day it was finished. The company was great to work with. We plan to have them install a back patio this year and we can’t wait!!"
