"I sent them a message through Angie's List on a Tuesday night, had a response from them before I woke up the next morning. They met with me at lunch on Wednesday, got to work on Thursday morning and the work was completed by the time my tenant got home that evening.

The sun room/patio area of this house I inherited, and am renting to a friend, is effectively flat. It was roofed with normal roofing materials/techniques and was leaking...probably since it was installed, but I was not made aware of the problem.

The men who came out initially identified the problem with the old installation instantly and, without hesitation, informed me that it wasn't going to be a cheap repair. I respect this very much. I'd much rather have a contractor be up front about the cost of a repair rather than lure me in with a low-ball estimate and then triple the bill once the job is complete. The price they charged was almost precisely the amount they gave me in their initial, quick on-site review of the situation.

Their men showed up first thing the next morning, stripping the old roof material off, replacing the damaged decking that had been ruined by the leak, and installed the proper materials for this kind of nearly-flat roof. They even had a crew that finished another job in the area early in the day, and had them go over to help get the job completed faster, without charging me extra for the extra laborers.

Everything was very prompt and professional, and my tenants are very happy that their sun room is fixed. The cost was high considering the area of roof repaired, but if you want great service and professional work you pay for it, and I have no problem paying well for this kind of service.

I will definitely be calling on these guys for any other roofing work I need done, and will be recommending them to my customers should they ask about quality roofers.

"I wouldn't have believed how easy it would be to get a new roof until Chris showed me how. He really earns his business. Everything went very well.
Chris demonstrated creativity and ingenuity in helping my wife and me choose the best possible roof at the best possible price. He was thorough in explaining the pros and cons of each choice, and in the end he guided us toward what I think was the best choice for us, a metal roof. I thought this type of roof would be a whole lot more expensive than a regular shingle roof, but the difference wasn't too bad.

It did take a little longer than I had hoped to begin the work, but this was largely due to an extremely wet and rainy July. Otherwise, everything was extremely timely and professional. "Subcontractors were mostly good, but management of them was lacking. I had to personally supervise them because the on site contractor rarely stayed very long. Told the trim finish crew to leave because they did not know how to install crown molding. Got another crew that knew what they were doing. They never asked for periodic payments during the job (as is typical); presented one huge bill at the end. Holland homes builds nice homes, but I would not recommend them for small jobs like mine because you do not get the best crews and you have to wait for them to fit you into their schedule."

The workers arrived and went to work at 7am  and by12 noon the job was complete. The roof was perfect and they clean up all nails and old shingles.

 You may find someone that will give you a better price but you cant get a better job. They are the only roofing contractor I will use.

"Our "only" negative comment about Ground Zero Shelters is that they do not come to a persons residence to give the sales pitch and demonstration. You must go to their showroom or see their product at a home show. This being said, we were extremely happy with the sales experience, reminders and installation of our shelter. They called about 10 days prior to the installation for a reminder, their installers called the day before and the morning of the installation to remind us that they would be at our home at the designated time. They showed up as promised and were completed with the installation in less than 1 1/2 hours time! Thank you Ground Zero!"

"Mr. Bennett knocked on my door and asked me if he could inspect our roof for hail damage (for free). After approx. 30 minutes, he returned and showed me multiple areas on my roof that was hail damaged. He advised me to call my Insurance company (Auto Owner's) and file a claim. We did this together and after giving the authorization to allow Mr. Bennett to speak to them, he filed my claim and were finished within 10 minutes. They scheduled an adjuster to meet with Mr. Bennett 3 days after our phone conversation. Mr. Bennett was actually 15 minutes early for their inspection and had his ladder out and ready for him and my adjuster to inspect our roof. They were on the roof for approx. 30 minutes and returned together. My adjuster explained the claims procedure and told me he agreed with my contractor that the roof needed replacing due to hail damage. Mr. Bennett is also a insurance adjuster and it appeared they had a very good relationship. After my insurance adjuster left, Mr. Bennett and I picked out my shingle color and scheduled the roof to be replaced 3 days later. They arrived on time and two days later were finished with the job. My roof looks great! Mr. Bennett advised that I should have additional ridge vents to allow my attic more ventilation. I agreed and he did this within the amount of money allowed by my ins. comp. I didn't have to pay a dime out of pocket! He gave me credit for my deductible by allowing him to put a sign in my front yard for 30 days after his work was completed. I was not aware that the state of Alabama allows the insured UP TO 6 YEARS to file a claim for storm related damages!! I did call the Alabama Department of Insurance in Montgomery to verify this because my daughter's roof was damaged in Tuscaloosa from the Tornados and she thought it was too late to file a claim. Mr. Bennett is now helping my daughter with the same process. To sum up my experience, it was the best one I've ever had in my 64 years dealing with a contractor! I had a horrible experience in 2002 after one of my pipes burst and was ripped off! Mr. Bennett did not request any money until he was completed and 100% satisfied. He requested the money of my initial check and explained that he would fill out a completion form and Auto Owner's would send the depreciation (or hold back as he called it). I called Mr. Bennett after receiving my second check and he came to my home after telling me to wait until the check had cleared. At no time did he pressure me about giving him money. Great guy to have in our area! Highly recommended!!!"

"My roof has what is called walls because they are so steep. They stripped the entire roof, inspected the decking, repaired the tin, re-felted, replaced vent seals and re shingled my entire roof. They follow warranty installation instructions and left the site spotless. A few months later there small trim pieces that had come loose and fell into the gutter and he was back in a day to correct it. His crew is clean cut and there is no alchohol consumption as you see with many."
