"My husband and I had several different companies come out to give us quotes for our fence. We were getting discouraged because we felt the quotes we were getting were made-up prices. We actually left the project alone and said, "We will continue to wait on God to bring the right company." A few months back, we explained to my sister it would be nice if we got our backyard fenced in by the summer. Well, she recommended Mr. Donnell the owner of Best Rate Fence. We did not reach out right away, but when we did, we knew this was the right company for the job. His customer service was top-notch. He returned our call right away and came out to home the next day. He was the only company that came out and walked our yard with a measuring tool. Making sure the measurements were correct and not guessing. The wood was ordered the next week, and the fence was installed the week after. The installers were quiet because we did not know they had arrived to install the fence. That is how professional his crew was, and they were well-mannered young men. Mr. Donnell then came to expect the installation making sure it was to our liking. Awesome customer service and quality of work. Now we can enjoy our backyard in peace our furbabies can stay outside longer, and we can not wait until we have cookouts. Thank you Best Rate Fence"

"this company has changed , last year they did my fence and did a great job and was very responsive to correct a problem . this year very different customer service from Paul , I had them install a fence at my daughter and son in laws house . the fence was very uneven they did not even try to correct . my son in law and my self corrected all the defects Paul said was impossible . refused to come back out to fix and kept talking over me when i was trying to explain the problem. and no offer of compensation at all just excuses , very sad what happened to their customer service in a year"

"Watson iron and steel did our railing for our back porch in 2019. They had to come back and make some corrections, but all in all, we were pleased with their work. We had them come back out a few months ago to measure for our new railing on our front porch. We told the man who came out to literally replicate the railings THEY made to match the back porch exactly. He looked and the back railings, measured the height, the distance between the pickets, etc. I was very clear, and he seemed to understand perfectly… it was simple “just make the exact same thing you made last time.” Yep, got it! Well apparently it wasn’t as simple as it seemed! On the order, they added additional posts instead of screwing into our pillars, and they added twice as many pickets. The communication between the man who came to take our order and the woman who executed the order was obviously quite poor. They told us that they needed to come out and measure again since we didn’t want the additional posts, and even though it was their error, they still charged us an additional fee because they had to make another trip out. We argued endlessly about the fee, but finally gave up and just paid the fee. It was ridiculous. fast forward to today… It still isn’t what we asked for! They did screw the railing into our columns instead of installing additional posts. But we still have twice as many pickets out front as we do in the back. It looks tacky, and after shelling out over $3K for the tiny railing, I hate it. I asked my husband what he wanted to do about it, and he said not to bother because there’s no way they’re going to fix it now that we have already paid them. Isn’t that sad? That we’re not even going to bother trying to work things out with these people because we know they won’t do it. And don’t forget, we’re repeat customers. ? I wish there were more iron companies in and around Charlotte, but sadly, this seems to be the only one. The first picture is our back porch railing. There are 6 inches between the pickets. The second picture is our front porch. There are 3 inches between each packet. They definitely don’t match."

"One of the owners repeatedly told me that mine was "a small job" and they would squeeze me in after completing larger jobs. Maybe that is why they changed my appointment time more than once. Don't expect the courtesy of a phone call. They will email you and hope that you are glued to your inbox so that you will know they are not coming. They will show up when it is convenient for them, not the customer. And if you point out their lack of courtesy, they will threaten to cancel the job."

"Not well!! Would NOT recommend Kevin with McToolman! He was hired on a sub-contractor basis to install crown molding and used wrong nails (too long) that punctured holes in my AC freon line and a waterline. These were expensive repairs and he is claiming "no fault". Contractor and several others surveyed damaged and confirm he is at fault, plus their are clear pictures proving so. For someone that guarantee's his work, he is running from this "at fault" claim. Can only wonder how many other times this has happened. Look elsewhere for your service needs."
