"Everything seemed fine at first. The manager came in, discussed the project, and asked what we wanted done. From day one, however, I realized I would need to be present at all times because I quickly lost trust and confidence in the team. They showed up and left whenever they wanted, despite assuring us they could meet the agreed timeline. The workers were unfamiliar with the layout we requested, and the project exceeded the scheduled completion date. What should have taken three days ended up taking a full week, causing me to incur additional out-of-pocket expenses for lodging. I constantly had to direct the workers and monitor their work; otherwise, they would do things incorrectly or not as requested. To make matters worse, the manager later claimed they needed to charge extra for “leveling the floor,” which they presented as a major issue across the entire house—when in reality, it was a small area. Furniture was damaged, and dried cement was left on walls and blinds. On the final day, cleanup was assigned to a single worker—an older woman—who physically could not lift heavy trash bags filled with broken tiles or rugs. With no proper help, I stepped in and assisted her using my own cart, even though this should not have been my responsibility. To add insult to injury, while helping, I was rudely told by a driver that I was loading the trailer incorrectly and ordered to redo the work, which I refused. Overall, this was one of the worst experiences I’ve had with a company. I expressed my dissatisfaction to the manager, who initially said he would reduce the cost, but then tried to increase the price above the original $7,000 agreement, citing the unnecessary “leveling” work."
