"I contacted Mike at Harco to discuss my goal of replacing the high maintenance all-wood mostly cedar deck that was regularly needing cleaning, resealing and replacement of rotting wood with something that would be low maintenance and have less wood susceptible to wood. He suggested some composite material for the decking, and steps. I looked at these materials at a store and decided on a color. Besides the decking and steps, a thin sheet of the same composite material was used to overlay some boards on the side of the deck. The decking is attached with hidden clips, which looks better than screws or nails. I chose handrails made of steel with a drink rail of the same composite material. The posts are cedar and the structural joist are pressure treated.lumbar. The construction went very well. It was constructed during the winter months so bad weather was a factor. Mike gave me advanced notice when the weather was expected to be too cold to work. The workers were professional and considerate of my property. They gave me daily updates on the progress of their work. They cleaned up the yard and driveway daily and took care not to disturb the landscaping more than was absolutely needed. Overall, the work took about a week and a half. My wife and I are very pleased with our new deck. I previously had a fence installed by Harco and both experiences have been great from first contacting them for an estimate to completion of the project."
