What started off as a railing job quickly turned into a decking and railing job once Carl and his crew brought up a potential safety hazard that would have been left if the decking was not done at the same time. A couple day job turned into a week but they were able to adjust quickly and the project turned out great. We also requested/received a quote for a new garage; the only reason we didn't use Carl is because we had a family member who was interested in completing that project. "It went great!  The entire process... from design,  quote and installation went very well.  I had contacted three deck builders - all rated very well on Angies.  Cedar Works came across as very professional, and seemed to know the most about the issues a low to the ground deck would create.  The price was in the middle of the three but it was the most complete.... it even included the liners for the planters (4 planters on the deck)  We contracted in winter and wanted it built in May.  They followed up and had all the ducks in a row. <br> <br>As we got closer the owner Jamie made another recommendation that turned out to be great.  They were on time and I can't say enough about the craftsmanship of the lead deck builder.  Down to all the edges being sanded etc.  They finished within the week as promised and cleaned up wonderfully. <br> <br>Would use them again in a heart beat."

"due to permit being ready sooner than expected our fence was installed sooner than planned. However, the installation crew hit our cable line which resulted in a loss of cable and calls to the cable company and wait time to repair. They also hit our electric line which resulted in (a month later) random loss of power to our house. DTE explained that the line was nicked during installation and the insulation in the line slowly starts to deteriorate causing random outages until the final outage which resulted in them digging up our yard to replace the line with a new line. Finally have full power after 2 days. Not sure if I would hire again. 1) I won't ever need another fence 2) I am not sure how qualified the crew was."
