"Safebound moving and storage got it right. This was my second move with them. They did a great job the first time when used them. So when i was ready to move 100 miles away it made sense to call Safebound moving n storage. My customer services person Nathan, pulled up my records. Nathan kept in contact with me. He made sure I had all the information about my move. The day before the move he called to go over details. 4 men arriving between 10 - 11 am The movers that arrived at my apartment showed -up at 10 a.m. They called 1/2 hour before they arrived. The 4 gentlemen started working after we spoke, communication is key with this company. They worked together like a well oiled machine. When I got to my new home and the four men started unloading the truck nothing was broken. No boxes were crushed. Everything was moved with the most care believe me. I was very happy with this company. I hope I don’t have to move again, but if I do, I’ll be calling Safebound. 😃 "

"DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY! They never mentioned before the move that if they break something (and they did break more than 1 item) they will pay you something like 40 cents a pound for the item. I would never have hired them knowing that. They more than 1/2 loaded their truck with my belongings then rushed me through signing a contract which apparently contained this language unbeknownst to me, they certainly didnt state it verbally. They arrived early afternoon on a saturday and worked late into the night completing the move. The movers were very nice, but clearly tired. I asked them to do the right thing to replace the one item that cant be repaired and they refused. You should hire a mover that has insurance sufficient to cover replacement costs of items they break, esp if they cant be repaired."

Customers say: Quick response

"I needed to move a small amount of household items from Portland to Seattle. After calling the company, I chose them because I was happy with the price and the way they communicated. The manager, Alex, quickly arranged a truck, combined a few small orders along the way, and shipped everything on time. Despite the difficult weather, all the items arrived safely. Thank you so much! I highly recommend this company."

"I have moved several times in the last six years and let me tell you it has been a nightmare. I don?t write reviews but felt I had to because of my recent moving experience with College Hunks. They showed up on time, fully prepared, and worked their butts off from start to finish. What I appreciated most was how they kept letting us know what they were doing and checking in before moving anything delicate. This was one of the easiest moves we have ever done."

"1- The truck the workers came in was large enough to move 5 BR house, when I told them I had less than a 1 BR apt. worth of items. I was stunned by the size and the amount of gas I would be charged. 2- The route they took was "round red Robin's barn" and increased the mileage significantly. It left me feeling like the truck size and directions were intentionally skewed to up the cost much higher that the original estimate, which was based on an hourly rate. I can't imagine any GPS system prompting them to travel the way they did. 3- A Sony portable CD player was missing from my things. When I called the workers about it, they never responded. Finally got a hold of the owner who said both guys didn't remember seeing a CD player. After a thorough search, I found several broken pieces that identified what was left of it. I took pictures and sent to the owner as proof that it was on the truck. I was refunded the $100.00 tip that I generously gave to the movers, but no explanation was ever offered as to what actually happened to my CD player. If I hadn't found those broken pieces, I dont believe I would have received anything. This was the second time I'd used Monster Movers. The first time was a local move and went without a hitch. I tipped them well and wrote a glowing review. This second move was such a disappointment. I felt taken advantage of with the overcharges, and can't believe they lied about the CD player. I have one final move to make. It will not be with Monster Movers."

FAQs for out-of-state moving service projects in Orlando, FL

How much money you need to live comfortably in Hawaii varies based on your housing preferences, transportation needs, and lifestyle. Many residents find ways to manage on moderate incomes by choosing less touristy neighborhoods and adapting to local living patterns. Creating a detailed budget that accounts for housing, transportation, groceries, and utilities provides a clearer picture of your specific requirements.

Living in Hawaii on $3,000 monthly is possible with careful budgeting and lifestyle adjustments. Success largely depends on housing costs, which vary significantly between neighborhoods and islands. Many residents find shared living arrangements or smaller accommodations in less expensive areas help manage expenses. Prioritizing necessities, limiting dining out, and embracing local recreational options that don't require significant spending can help stretch your monthly budget while still enjoying island living.

The hidden costs of moving to Hawaii often include unexpected shipping surcharges, agricultural inspection fees, and initial setup expenses. Many newcomers are surprised by delivery access fees for difficult locations, temporary accommodation needs while waiting for household goods, and higher utility deposits. Island-specific expenses like specialized pest control services and humidity-resistant storage solutions may also become necessary. Building a contingency fund of 10 to 15% above your estimated moving budget helps accommodate these unforeseen expenses.

How long it takes to ship household goods to Hawaii depends primarily on your chosen shipping method and departure location. Standard ocean freight often requires three to six weeks from mainland ports, with shared containers sometimes taking longer due to consolidation schedules. Air shipping dramatically reduces transit time to days rather than weeks, but at significantly higher cost. Many residents adopt a hybrid approach, sending essential items by air while allowing bulk possessions to follow by sea.

Whether you need special permits to move to Hawaii depends on the possessions you’re bringing. While American citizens don't need immigration documentation, certain items face strict regulation. Agricultural products, plants, and some animals require special permits or inspection certificates. Vehicle importation requires specific documentation and potential emissions testing. Large shipping containers may need delivery permits in certain residential areas. Consulting with transportation specialists familiar with Hawaii's requirements helps avoid compliance issues.

The items you’re prohibited from shipping to Hawaii include numerous plants, seeds, and fresh produce that might introduce invasive species to the islands' delicate ecosystem. Certain animals face strict prohibition, particularly snakes and other potential invasive species. Hazardous materials, firearms without proper documentation, and controlled substances cannot be shipped. Review current prohibited items lists from shipping companies and Hawaii's Department of Agriculture before packing, as regulations can change, and violations may result in significant penalties.
