"Donnie at A&D painted the exterior trim of our house. Could not say better things about his work. Fast, professional, and personable. Serious value for his work. If I could I would hire him for all of my home projects."

Customers say: Quality work

"I would consider Performance Painting first for any future painting or staining needs. While they were the only response I received, I am 100% pleased with work, consideration given us, and overall professionalism. I have a hard time recommending some of the contractors I have dealt with, but Greg is the excellent exception."

"They did an excellent job painting the house and the price charged was fair and under my budget. They were very friendly and helpful and the job looks great. I would recommend them to anyone who needs painting services. I got 4 bids from Angie's list and they were the lowest Larry R"

"Built to Last Construction was recommended to my husband and me by his brother. They remodeled my bother-in law's kitchen and built him a beautiful deck, which is featured on their website at https://www.b2lconstruction.com. We hired them to remodel our kitchen. It turned out beautiful. Tom even built pull out drawers for my cupboard panty and added a heat vent along the floor. The extra time and detail they took to get it just right was amazing. I recommended them to a friend who is keeping them busy with projects at her home. My friend recommended them to someone else who has had a hard time finding someone to update her deck. She will not be disappointed."

FAQs for small projects painting or staining projects in Ortonville, MI

You'll need about two gallons of paint to fully cover your kitchen cabinets with two coats. Since each gallon covers around 350 square feet, it's a good idea to measure your cabinets or use a paint calculator to determine exactly how much you'll need. Starting with one or two coats of primer and then applying two to three layers of paint will give you a flawless, durable finish. Using high-quality paint can reduce the number of coats needed and provide a long-lasting finish.

The best type of paint for your kitchen cabinets is latex paint because it applies evenly and creates a durable finish. If you're painting wood surfaces and need extra adhesion, acrylic paint is a great alternative. We don't recommend oil-based paint for residential use due to its VOC emissions. For finishes, go with eggshell, semi-gloss, gloss, or satin, as matte finishes aren't as durable or as easy to clean.

The best method for painting kitchen cabinets is spray painting because it gives you a smooth, even finish without brush strokes. While brushes and rollers can work, they often leave marks and require more effort. If you're aiming for a professional look, spray painting is your best bet to enhance the beauty and durability of your cabinets.
