"I am impressed by the quality of work performed at my house. We bought a house in 2020 at Westlake in Crozeet. We wanted shower doors in our bathrooms and no curtains. Dobson Glass installed a shower door in our basement's bathroom, where the tub is rectangular. But in our guest's room's bathroom, interestingly, the edge of the tub is curved, therefore a round shower door was the only option. Those round doors are available at Home Depot. BUT, NO ENTITY IN THE EXTENDED CHARLOTTESVILLE AREA was interested in the project of installing such a door. In all my online searches, MR. POLLARD IS THE ONLY ONE, who called me, and who was willing to tackled the job. And he, and his team, did a fantastic job. They also repaired a heavy wood mantle over our fire place, which was falling. They fixed it without breaking the marble around it and without any visual marks as to where they put the nails. They performed other repairs around the house to our complete satisfaction. The men were diligent, hard working, polite and professional. We are planning future projects. I would hired Mr. Pollard and his team any time. I highly remommend him."

"We worked with Bob's son, Jesse, for the project. He came out and gave us a quote, scheduled us and eventually built the fence himself. With his crew, he built about 200 feet of fence in two days. We were very impressed with the speed and quality of the work and would definitely use them again. Very price competitive and responsive. Really nice family-owned company."

"Their work has always been "top-notch." Over the last 25 years, they replaced the tile twice, repaired the coping stones when needed, and last summer installed all new modern coping stones. This spring they are scheduled to re-plaster the pool for the second time in 25 years. They also assist with deck renovation by applying the mastic between the coping and surrounding pool deck. We are always pleased with results of their work. They provide the cost of the work upfront and always stick to the agreed price. Scheduling is tricky as it depends on the weather but once they begin the work, they stick with it until it is done without much downtime for use of the pool."

"This is a follow-up to my comments dated Feb. 3, 2014 and concerns the PVC pergola.  This follow-up is unrelated to the issue mentioned in the original posting. <br /> Within five months of the December completion date, I noticed peeling paint on the pergola, specifically the ends of the stringers and rafters.  I contacted Dennis Kidd and asked him to inspect the pergola at his convenience.  After five months of waiting, Dennis has not yet repaired the pergola. <br /> The pergola is marketed exclusively by Trex and is made by Backyard America. Fortunately, Backyard America offers a 25-year warranty for "material defects in workmanship and materials."  My current plan is to contact Backyard America directly to solve the peeling paint issue. <br />"

"I started with an Angie's List Deal for a 5-man crew for 8 hours of tree work. Dave Munoz met with me to look over the job, so I had a good idea of how much they would be able to do in that amount of time. Dave recommended that I also remove a very large (nearly 100 ft) beetle-infested pine that was leaning directly over my house. The house is in a subdivision; the tree was near the property line, and there was no access for a bucket, so it would take a day all by itself, because they would have to cut it down in stages and lower the pieces to the ground. I agreed to add that to the job. The crew showed up when promised. They worked at an astonishing pace for two days. Their topper was an artist who was nothing short of amazing to watch. They were able to remove the 100' pine with no damage to the neighbor's landscaping. They finished the job when they said they would, and removed all debris. The tree work was $4700. I was so impressed with their work that I had them come back and remedy a severe problem I was having with the drainage and grading around my house. Dave walked around the house with me and explained what they would need to do and how they would do it. One unknown was what they would find when they removed an old patio at the back of the house. It turned out that there was a 4' deep hole extending underneath the house that was the source of the humidity (and mold) problem inside the house. The hole was caused by faulty drainage from the adjacent downspout. They filled the hole with gravel. They connected all the downspouts to PVC pipes that they ran underground down the hill away from the house. There is a small deck on one side of the house. They dug the trench underneath the deck by removing (and later replacing) the decking and digging between the joists. Again, I was very impressed at how much they accomplished in a few days. The work was neat and professional, and highly effective. The humidity inside the house went from 71% to 31%. Cost for the drainage work was $7150. I plan to use VA Contracting's services again in the near future to build a garden shed and to landscape a very steep hill in front."
