"A few years ago I hired Frank Mannella to remodel my upstairs bathroom and to do a minor installation in my kitchen . He did such a wonderful job that I knew Frank was the perfect man to remodel my downstairs bathroom. Two weeks ago Frank and his crew completed the remodel of my bathroom in exactly 7 days. He and his crew always arrived on time and when they said they would. My once hideous downstairs bathroom looks like a spa bathroom now. Every one who sees it loves it. My husband and I are so very pleased with Frank's work and we plan to always seek him first for future home improvement needs. I highly recommend Frank Mannella and his crew."

"The plan went well, and according to the schedule. Mark Niego met with us, and we accepted bids from him and several others, including an architect and another general remodeler. He explained the entire process, and helped us out with deciding on a workable floor plan. Taking the plans through the city to get the permit took probably 24 hours of waiting in total, over about a month, and felt something like Dante's third level of the inferno. And this was BEFORE the permit office crisis of last summer, but as an aside, the man who did finally give me the permit, who lacked the ability to exhibit affect change, stated that he had no idea why he was giving me this permit, and that he had never done so without the attention of some kind of divinely appointed surveyor who flew over the house photographing the entire block, etc. I am telling you this about the permit process because that's part of the deal, but that's not Niego, that's the city. Ground was broken in short order after the permit was bestowed, and construction began. The homeowner, in this case, was the general contractor. Niego provided a list of contractors he works with, and we got bids from them as well as at least two others in each category: plumbing, electrical, HVAC, etc. His list of contractors came in with the lowest bids. Throughout the construction project, I was impressed with his professionalism, and with how well he responded to issues that came up, such as Gale force winds and rain in the dead of winter when we had the back wall of the house out in a dumpster in the backyard. There are, of course, about a hundred details worth mentioning, and I could go on forever, but you wouldn't really read that, would you? Niego was ideal for us, and undercut the most likely competition by about half. We lived in the house during the construction, and his guys came and started at 7:00am promptly, often climbing the ladders right outside my bedroom, racing to turn on the radio to listen to "la musica romantica." That killed me. Another piece that was helpful: Mark worked with us as we tried to do as much as we could with used and recycled materials that we dragged out of tear downs up on the north shore."

"Our basement remodel was just completed by Adas Interior Remodeling and we couldn’t be more thrilled with it. Adam and his crew were always available to us and they really made the entire process a breeze. He was helpful and always available to answer any questions we had. During the build, we kept getting new ideas and finding more things that we wanted to add on and Adam never hesitated to give us exactly what we wanted. Our basement looks absolutely amazing and is everything we could have ever hoped for! We will definitely be using them again for future projects and would highly recommend them to anyone looking to remodel."

"Great! This review is long overdue. Marc was fair with his price and very meticulous with plans. We hired him after many interviews with other architects in 2014. Always was available as building was in process to address problems that arose with our builders. He also solved the problem of our garage flooding when we had a hard rain. Think of him often because he saved us tons of money and headaches! He went above and beyond the call of duty."

"We are thrilled with our kitchen remodel from Chicagoland Remodeling Inc. We had Izabela help us design our kitchen with high quality products used in innovative ways that suits our family needs. She was great with communication and coordination of all aspects of the project. Izabela was always available to answer questions and was respectful of our individual needs and concerns. The selection of materials that they provide is amazing. We wonted white kitchen but Izabela showed us an off-white that we both fallen in love with ;-) Cabinets, countertop, floor tiles and backsplash tiles all was exactly what we wanted and she guided us to the right finishes and materials We were so pleased with all the work they did in our kitchen that also we asked them to remodel our bathroom and again no disappointments. We highly recommend Chicagoland Remodeling Inc and for sure we will use this company for our future projects."

FAQs for remodel to accommodate a disability projects in Park Forest, IL

Standard Medicare coverage often doesn't extend to home modifications, such as roll-in showers. In specific circumstances where medical necessity is clearly established, limited coverage might be available through certain Medicare programs. Many homeowners explore alternative funding sources such as home modification grants, veterans' benefits, or specialized financing programs designed for accessibility improvements. Consulting with a Medicare representative about your specific situation provides the most accurate guidance.

Roll-in showers deliver significant benefits beyond their monetary return, particularly in terms of safety, independence, and long-term accessibility. By eliminating barriers to bathing, these installations help prevent falls while accommodating mobility devices, such as wheelchairs or walkers. Their open design creates a contemporary appearance that appeals to many homebuyers. For households planning to age in place or accommodate family members with mobility challenges, the functional advantages often outweigh pure financial considerations.

A standard roll-in shower installation takes two to four days. Projects requiring extensive renovation or plumbing changes may take longer, potentially extending to several weeks or months. Factors affecting the timeline include existing bathroom configuration, permit processing times, contractor availability, and material delivery schedules. Creating proper drainage slopes often requires additional preparation time compared to traditional shower installations, particularly when modifying existing floor structures.
