"Kithen Magic is a leader in the refacing business and their work explains why. They were very professional throughout the sales, measuring, install and cleanup. We are extremely happy with our new kitchen and the added value to our home. We aren't ready to sell but we know that we just made a major improvement to the value of our home. We liked the results so much that we wouldn't hesitate to recommend the company or to use them again someday should we need to!"

"I purchased a big deal in May 2014 for 2 slide out shelves for $164, Scott got in touch with me & made an appointment to measure where the 2 shelves were going. Scott came on time, was very pleasant, took his measurements & told me there would be a wait of 4-6 weeks. I was fine with that, A few weeks later Scott called me to tell me one of the shelves came in with  a slight crack in it & he didn't want to give me the shelf in that condition, he could come & install the 1 good shelf & the other when it came in, I told him I wasn't in that much of a hurry & could wait, so he would only have to make one trip-(I live over 40 miles from Scott). 2 weeks later I get a phone call that the other shelf was in & we scheduled an appointment for install. Scott arrived on time & went right to work. I was so happy with the quality & how they looked, that I made a deal with Scott to purchase 3 more shelves. Again this process went well & not only did I get what I paid for, Scott made the edges around the shelves an inch higher than he was supposed to-(3" instead of 2", this was important because the higher edge held my items in place better) and he also matched the wood to my cabinets. Once again we were very happy with Scott & his work. Well October came & we called Scott & ordered  more shelves, which are in the process of getting made. Scott is a true professional, he explains everything he does, it shows he loves what he does  & his prices are very reasonable considering this is a special order  product. OH and did I mention how great it is to find things in my cabinets???? No more finding items 5 months after the best buy date because they were stuffed inthe back. everything is neat & easy to find. Big thanks to Scott & Shelf Concepts, anything I need that Scott does, he will be my only phone call & anytime I have company, the first thing I do is show off my easy to reach new pull out  shelves. <br />"

"I am in love with my new kitchen. Nick did an amazing job opening up the space by knocking down the existing wall and setting it. His carpentry skills are superior. He built and installed 3 L-shaped shelves in place of a cabinet and it's so pretty I can't stop staring at it. He also replaced a faulty stairway on our deck and installed a wooden beam in our kitchen. He rolled with the many changes that my husband and I came up with during the project and was always willing and able to take on the new projects and ideas that we had."

"I had previously used this company to refinish a claw foot tub in my third floor bathroom, and while they were there doing that I showed Nelson the second floor bath, told him what I wanted and asked for a quote which he gave me.  The third floor went very well so I hired him to do the second floor. He estimated it would take him a week.  He got a little behind schedule, partly because he was running around with me trying to help me pick out new tile. To his credit he did not leave me hanging while he went and started another job as so many contractors do, but stayed until he was finished even though I know he had to juggle his schedule. The only thing he didn't do was install the new vanity, sink and medicine cabinet.  Not his fault, the place I ordered it from messed up and it wasn't ready when he was there.  He actually came back a few days later to do it, I still didn't have it.  In general the job went well.  The tile work is a little uneven and one of the shelves is a little sloppy, (not very noticeable you have to look closely) so I can't give them an A for quality,  but overall I'm satisfied and I feel I got a lot of value for the price. I'm planning to use them again to do refinishing in the master bathroom"

"Outstanding Service by JCP Glass Works. I thought I had cracked a few small windows on a basement window. JCP arrived on a quick call over the weekend (they squeezed me in). I had an alarm indicator tell me the window was broken. It looked crack to me. JCP came and showed me there was no damage. Honesty and Integrity is a breathe of fresh air these days. They wouldn't even accept water from me. I recommend these folks with the highest accolades."

FAQs for cabinets reface projects in Park Ridge, NJ

Absolutely. Refacing returns 65% to 80% of your investment at resale, and you get an updated kitchen right now. Because you’re not paying for new boxes or demo work, the price lands well below complete replacement but still delivers a fresh, custom look that buyers—and you—notice every time you walk in.

To trim costs, start by pricing a high-quality paint or gel stain instead of full refacing—stain alone can be one-third the price of full refacing. Keep existing hinges and pulls if they’re in good shape, and shop sales for sandpaper, primer, and sealer. The sweat equity is real, but so are the savings, and a careful DIY job can still leave your cabinets looking sharp for years to come.

A professional crew needs only three to five days to reface a standard kitchen, although a larger layout or intricate door style may add one to two days. Compare that with the several weeks a full cabinet swap can drag on. In other words, you get your space back fast, often before the paint on the new doors is even fully cured.

Yes, you can replace just the cabinet doors and drawer fronts without covering the cabinet boxes. Cabinet refacing involves installing new doors and drawer fronts while applying veneers to existing cabinet boxes. If you’re satisfied with the condition of your cabinets, swapping doors and drawer fronts reduces labor and materials, saving you time and cost. Always consult a professional to confirm compatibility and ensure a seamless, high-quality finish.

Most cabinet refacing projects do not require removing countertops because professionals can access doors and drawers around existing surfaces. However, if your countertop overhang prevents full access to the cabinet boxes, contractors may need to lift the countertop to install veneers properly temporarily. Discuss this with your refacing specialist during the on-site estimate so you know exactly what the project entails.
