"Having my cabinets refaced by The Contractors Inc was a very satisfying project. The price was reasonable, the service was great, and the results look awesome. There was even a problem with some doors that were mis-measured, which I might not have even noticed. The problem was immediately identified and quickly rectified."

"Our experience with the The Cabinet Restoration Company, LLC was phenomenal. From the date of estimate through completion, the process was incredibly smooth. Pete, the owner, is very responsive to emails and incredibly patient while we were figuring out other contractors before we actually signed the contract. The week we had our cabinets refaced went without a hitch. Rob does beautiful work, is very professional and respectful. The craftmanship is excellent. Thank you, Pete and Rob. We love our new Kitchen!!"

"I began the search for a company to upgrade my kitchen cabinets earlier this year. I read reviews about Kitchen Saver, contacted them for information and made an appointment with the sales rep. Mike, the sales rep was very professional and spent a lot of time explaining their process. He allowed me time to make a decision, and I decided to go forward. A few months later, the cabinet installation by Simon was exceptional. His attention to detail and workmanship was outstanding. He explained what he would be doing each day, what the process would entail, and alerted me when it would "get loud." He was extremely knowledgeable, experienced and competent, and I knew the final product would be beautiful. It was evident that he took great pride in his work. The cabinet refacing turned out beautifully. I am extremely satisfied with the final results and would highly recommend Kitchen Saver to anyone considering kitchen cabinet refacing. Five stars!!"

"Our kitchen cabinets were completely refaced with wood doors and new hardware. It looks brand new. Steve Cropper, our technician was skilled, professional. and did an excellent Job. He also installed a wider cabinet to accommodate a larger double wall oven. It was a pleasant experience working with this company, which finished the project on budget and on time, Will certainly retain Pete and his team for future projects."

"During the Christmas Holidays we noticed our kitchen looked a little dated and tired. We wanted to keep our countertops and back splash so cabinet refacing made sense. We met with a Kitchen Saver Representative, Al, who showed us samples and provided information that helped us make the decision to do it. The process was pretty non disruptive to our daily lives and the installer Patrick is awesome. He really takes pride in his work and he couldn't have been friendlier. The project took 4 days and we were able to use the kitchen in the evening. We still have our original appliances and we reused the old hardware. We absolutely love the end result. Our kitchen looks awesome and we are so happy with it. Kitchen Saver has the process down to an art and we would recommend them to anyone who is interested in a kitchen project."

"Issue #1: Started at first meeting in October 2014. Salesperson did NOT and consistently DID NOT HEAR what i was describing to him. Even with a wood sample.  He kept going on and on and the quality of their work. So, to save $10,000 in buying new cabinets we decided upon this option. <br /> Issue #2: Another person came out to finalize the measurements. Apparently Salesperson #1 did not LISTEN to what we wanted with replacing the drawers. They were just going to reface them. This would have left the drawers looking and working unbalanced and uneven and interiors being worn and ugly compared to the rest of the  "new stuff".  Salesperson #2 said it would be $450 extra to replace all the drawers with new ones. Wow. Ok. I needed them to work and look good. My old drawers have become crooked - since they were installed in 1988. I don't know WHY Salesperson #1 didn't suggest that at the initial meeting. <br /> Issue #3: We were to receive samples of the wood we chose and the color we chose. At the initial meeting, we told Salesperson #1 that we wanted a stain with grain showing, not a flat paint! We said this at least 3 times. What do we get as a sample????? Yes, a FLAT painted piece of wood with no grain showing. So, it takes another 2 1/2  weeks to get another sample. <br /> Issue #4: Approved sample. It is now the end of November! They said they wouldn't be able to come install until January! Yes, it took 3 MONTHS for this process start to finish. I could have received NEW cabinets in 6 weeks. <br /> Issue #5: Installation time. They had to build a new cabinet for over the refrigerator. It was clearly CROOKED! The bottom of the cabinet was 1 inch wider by the time you got to the top of the cabinet! AND where  the inside hinges were there clearly was a mistake and was all GNARLED up on the inside! HOW could a "craftsmen" leave such an obvious mess of a creation and not expect us to NOTICE??!?!? Seriously?!  It looked like something a high school shop student did.  We told them to replace the whole thing <br /> Issue #6: They did not tell us during the initial visit that the build-ups of the cabinets to reach the ceilings were just FRAMES! The interior and the back (wall exposed) were not finished. Now the inside of the top shelf of my cabinets are the ugly burnt orange color of the previous paint job. I could have painted that if i had known it would be showing!!!!!!! <br /> Issue #7: Upon final inspection 3 of the drawers were WAY off color to the rest of the cabinets. It looked like they were missing a coat of stain!!!! So, they ordered and replaced them  2 weeks later. <br /> Issue #8: We were provided a can of paint to paint the inside edges of the inside of the frames of the cabinets to match the outside.. really? I have to actually do work  on the cabinets i paid  $15,000 for ????!! <br /> The craftsmanship was definately was under par for what they told us. It seemed like they just wanted to get in and out without really taking a step back and looking at the work. Things still are uneven, but can't do anything b/c the laminate is glued down.  Salesperson didn't even follow up the week the workers were here to check how things were going. Once he received the check, he didn't care. <br /> If I had to make the decision over again, i DEFINITELY would have gone with NEW cabinets. I could have received them in 6 weeks, instead of a total of 3 1/2 months, consistent color, better workmanship and a lot less headaches. <br /> <br /> <br />"

"I had a kitchen refacing project using John Heagy Renovation and Construction several weeks ago. From the first visit to the showroom to the completion of the project, it was a first class experience. Cheri, our Sales rep, was extremely helpful in assisting me in choosing the cabinet style and color, quartz countertops, backsplash, and hardware. The showroom is amazing with all products available to see onsite. Confidence in your choices is guaranteed seeing them paired together for your final approval. She will even visit a granite yard with you to help with your choice. Chuck and ET were the contractors assigned. I couldn't have been happier with their superb work, friendliness, attention to detail, professionalism, and punctuality. Quartz installers and plumbers were equally impressive.. Owner and sales rep even stopped by to witness the project progression. In other words, class act all the way. Our updated kitchen looks beautiful. I highly recommend them for your reno projects and intend to use their services again in the future."

"I was interested in getting new kitchen cabinets, but I did not want to make any changes in the current layout.  I found out that refacing was the best option for what I wanted based on need and cost.  They were very efficient and professional.  I was very pleased with my new cabinets.  The only downside to the new cabinets are the brackets that hold the drawers are not equip to hold much weight.  So, the company has to come out to reinforce the drawers after installation."

"Gus completely remodeled my kitchen from drab and early 80’s to sleek, modern and magazine ready. Gus and his team were professional, on time and hardworking. Gus worked with us to make our plans into our dream kitchen. His vision and craftsmanship were hands down the best. My custom made cabinets have everyone in awe when they enter our kitchen. He was available to answer any questions either in person or by phone. He went beyond the kitchen fixing things he saw wrong elsewhere in the house. Walking into my kitchen each day makes me smile. My home feels new and bright and I still can’t believe it’s ours. Thank you Gus for your amazing work."

FAQs for cabinets reface projects in Parkville, MD

Absolutely. Refacing returns 65% to 80% of your investment at resale, and you get an updated kitchen right now. Because you’re not paying for new boxes or demo work, the price lands well below complete replacement but still delivers a fresh, custom look that buyers—and you—notice every time you walk in.

To trim costs, start by pricing a high-quality paint or gel stain instead of full refacing—stain alone can be one-third the price of full refacing. Keep existing hinges and pulls if they’re in good shape, and shop sales for sandpaper, primer, and sealer. The sweat equity is real, but so are the savings, and a careful DIY job can still leave your cabinets looking sharp for years to come.

A professional crew needs only three to five days to reface a standard kitchen, although a larger layout or intricate door style may add one to two days. Compare that with the several weeks a full cabinet swap can drag on. In other words, you get your space back fast, often before the paint on the new doors is even fully cured.

Yes, you can replace just the cabinet doors and drawer fronts without covering the cabinet boxes. Cabinet refacing involves installing new doors and drawer fronts while applying veneers to existing cabinet boxes. If you’re satisfied with the condition of your cabinets, swapping doors and drawer fronts reduces labor and materials, saving you time and cost. Always consult a professional to confirm compatibility and ensure a seamless, high-quality finish.

Most cabinet refacing projects do not require removing countertops because professionals can access doors and drawers around existing surfaces. However, if your countertop overhang prevents full access to the cabinet boxes, contractors may need to lift the countertop to install veneers properly temporarily. Discuss this with your refacing specialist during the on-site estimate so you know exactly what the project entails.
