"Initially wanted to install an interior sliding door to a new area. They did an incredibly great job. Also had them paint numerous rooms, replaced and installed all new toilets, added custom mirror in bathroom, lighting fixture, built retaining wall in backyard, repaired Mortis locks, new storm door, beautiful handrails for entrance stairs. They were very flexible and accommodating. They are very professional. Their workmanship is superb."

"Wilber's just finished up (Oct 24) with my old (~120 yrs) frame house in Madison. I  chose Wilber's over others in part because of many believable reviews on Angie's List. Their location in Maplewood was a bit of a drive but they had done a few previous jobs in our area.
Their estimators (Victor-carpentry & Christian-painting) came on schedule and gave me (next day e-mail) acceptable estimates on carpentry, preparation, and painting. They also provided a likely start date if I signed. The house is old and needed some care which was carefully evaluated, including some soffit and mill work and replacement porch flooring.
Overall estimate looked fair and they started the next week. Carpentry was done in one day including repair of damaged fascia and molding (porch roof) to former configuration. The damage was actually my own work in trying to clear out resident birds from behind the eaves. They did a bit more than I expected but held to the original estimate.
Preparation was extensive, requiring sanding to bare wood on all framing. Asbestos siding could not be scraped but it was all power washed and looked very clear for priming. Everything was tarped and they cleaned up every day - no drips or chips. A few small repairs (like down-spouts) were done without extra charge, and they even left a bit of paint for touch-up. The only extra was the front door - stripped off-hinge, primed, and painted; now Caliente Red. On-site supervisor (Christian - same name, different guy) was very knowledgeable and professional, kept me informed about the work schedule, and was good to deal with.
Final bill was on-bid. Overall we were very pleased with their professionalism and with their work. Interest from neighbors suggests they'll be back in this area soon. I would hire Wilber's back in a shot for carpentry or painting and give them my highest unqualified recommendation."

"Your Way Contractors did a beautiful job on our kitchen - which was a complete gut job. Ryan is a talented finish carpenter who did an amazing excellent installation of our custom cabinets. He's a great problem solver who tackles any issues with skill and creativity. What we found especially helpful: they were able to set-up a temporary sink and cooktop so we could continue to cook during the reno. This is a family business. They are extremely neat, minimizing dust by venting outside, using plastic sheets on the doorways and cleaning the work site at finish every day. We have used many contractors over the years in our 100 year old house, Your Way Contractors is by far the neatest contractor we've ever used. Also, they have a lot of experience with older houses to handle any problems and keep the aesthetics. Also, importantly, it was a pleasure to have Ryan at our house - he's polite, pleasant and neat, in addition to his carpentry skills. We highly recommend."

"Ricardo is a a very patient ,responsive, and personable person. I received an estimate on a Thursday and we started the job  a few days later on Monday. The whole job which was a lot of space to cover took 6 days and they arrived early and stayed late when necessary.
They removed molding and repainted it which is rare with floor installation specialists . In the past, when I had this done at another one of my properties I had to get a  painter to do this trim work. It was nice that they did everything and I didn't have to call someone else to do the paint and molding work.
They also covered everything with plastic throughout my house. I was a little nervous given I have a lot of high end electronics and speakers but  they were covered properly.
My house looks great and overall is was a very good experience.

FAQs for baseboard installation projects in Paterson, NJ

Installing crown molding can be challenging, depending on the material and your skill level. Lightweight materials like polystyrene and softwoods are easier for homeowners to install themselves, offering a cost-saving option. However, heavier materials like hardwoods and plaster are difficult to work with and require professional installation to achieve a high-quality result. Precision is crucial in measuring, cutting, and fitting crown molding, so hiring a professional ensures the best outcome.

Crown molding is available at various price points, ranging from $1 to $30 per linear foot, depending on the material. This wide range offers options for every budget. Affordable materials like MDF, PVC, and polystyrene provide cost-effective solutions, while premium materials like exotic hardwoods or metal offer a luxurious appearance at a higher cost. Regardless of your budget, you can find crown molding that enhances your home's aesthetic.

Crown molding is installed by professional finish carpenters or painters who specialize in detailed trim work. These experts possess the necessary skills and tools to ensure precise measurements, accurate cuts, and seamless installation. By hiring a professional, you can achieve a flawless finish that enhances your home's aesthetic appeal without the risk of common DIY mistakes.

Crown molding can be installed in various areas of your house to add elegance and architectural interest. It is commonly used where walls meet the ceiling, but you can also place crown molding around doors, windows, mirrors, and atop cabinets. Installing crown molding in these locations enhances visual appeal, creates a cohesive design, and adds a touch of sophistication to your home's interior.

To determine how much crown molding to purchase, start by measuring the length of each wall where you plan to install crown molding and add the measurements together to determine the total linear feet required. Purchase an extra 10% of material to account for waste from cutting angles and to ensure seamless joints by using full-length pieces when possible. Including additional material helps avoid shortages and ensures a smooth installation process.

For a professional crown molding installer, this task takes about 1 to 3 hours per room, depending on size and complexity. Factors like the material, design intricacy, and number of corners can affect the time. If you're doing it yourself, expect it to take longer as you get the hang of measuring and cutting precise angles. Advanced measuring and planning or hiring a pro can help the project go smoothly.
