"They seemed very knowledgeable on carpet maintenance. We were going to replace a section of carpet but they convinced us it was a bad idea because the repair would stand out like a sore thumb and that cleaning and scotch guarding was a better idea. The results proved that this was good advice."

"Netfa is an exceptional worker. I have had multiple issues that he has helped me with and I wouldn’t even think of anyone else at all for any of my household needs. Not only is he very meticulous, and pays close attention to detail he is extremely reasonable when it comes to pricing. Not like most Handy Man I’ve encountered. I appreciate you Netfa!"

"I would absolutely recommend Fuzzy Side Up to anyone. We had storm damage and needed our pad replaced and carpet put back down which involved quite a bit of work. Jay did such a great job that it looked better than it had before the storm. He did quality work and cleaned up after he finished the job. I would definately use Fuzzy Side Up again if I ever needed that type of service again."

"On 7/24/2024 I signed a contract with Flooring Edicate and Frank Steven’s for $20,000.00 to remodel my master bathroom with a check for $10,000.00. Frank contacted me and told me his accountant told him not to write a check for over $10,000.00 so he asked me to write another check for $9,500.00 which I did on 7/25/2024. He told me he would start on 8/22/2024. I respond that was the day my son was having a scheduled birth of my grandson could we make it a week before or after or work out a date. After a conversation with no date and I didn’t hear from him I texted him on 9/19/24 I asked when he was going to start the bathroom remodel I contracted with him on 7/24/2024. On 9/22/24 I texted again when were you going to start. He responded with “definitely next week, sometime end of the week probably”. On 10/2/24 he Hadn’t started yet so I texted what is start day. Someone texted me with “ let me check with the boss ,I’ll get back to you in just a bit”. I didn’t hear anything after numerous texts and phone calls. On 10/13/24 I received a text from Frank Steven’s stating “we just got back in town can I call you in about 30 minutes” which he didn’t call. I even texted you 5 hours later to ask if you were going to call. Sixteen days after you promised you would start you haven’t started and minimal communication concerning my bathroom remodel. I really love the plans and am very disappointed. I feel like he was gas lighting me with no explanation of what is going on. I gave him a 24 hour notice to contact me about a start date and asked if can’t fulfill the contract from 7/24/24 I ask you to refund the $9,500.00 I gave you on 7/24/2024. I have sent numerous texts, phone calls and an e- mail trying to communicate with Frank. I still to this date haven’t heard anything from Frank."

FAQs for carpet repair, refasten, or stretch projects in Patrick-afb, FL

Removing a rug costs around $0.40 to $0.50 per square foot. This includes the fee for a contractor to roll up the rug and haul it away in a vehicle for disposal or recycling. If they need to move furniture, they might charge an additional $0.25 to $0.30 per square foot of furniture.

If your carpet has minor damage—like a single area that requires stretching, patching, or cleaning—it might be less expensive to pay for carpet repair than remove and replace it. Repairing carpet costs around $210 per project.

The cost of carpet cleaning is about $190 for a three-bedroom home, so it’s a good idea to have your carpet cleaned at least once a year. But most carpeting only lasts 10 years. If your carpet is nearing the end of its life span, it might be more cost-effective to remove and replace your carpet than to clean and repair it. The average cost to install a new carpet is about $1,800.

Search our directory of carpet removal companies and services to find an affordable, screened contractor near you. All HomeAdvisor listings are vetted, reviewed, and rated by homeowners, so you can be sure to find a local pro qualified for your project. Get at least three quotes to compare prices and the timeline for your project.

Commercial carpet removal usually costs on the lower end of the carpet removal price range, around $1.10 per square foot or even less. Carpet installation contractors often offer discounted rates for larger projects, like commercial carpet removal and installation. Similarly, you might be able to negotiate a lower residential carpet removal cost if the carpet is pulled up throughout your entire home.

Most cities accept old carpets as bulk trash, but you may need to schedule a special pickup and prepare the carpet properly. Remove any nails or glue residue, cut the carpet into manageable pieces, and roll and secure them. Alternatively, you can take your old carpet to a local recycling center for a small fee, where it can be processed and repurposed.

Yes, you can remove carpet yourself if you're ready for a labor-intensive task. DIY carpet removal requires heavy lifting and tools like utility knives, pliers, and pry bars. The process is generally straightforward but time-consuming for stapled-down carpet. If your carpet is glued down or you're worried about damaging the subfloor, hiring a professional is best to ensure the job is done safely and efficiently.
