"From start to finish, Wiedmann Roofing did an amazing job of replacing a new roof on our home. If you're looking for the best engineered roof, most efficient service and fairest affordable price, this is the place to go. While replacing our soffits and fascia (different project), the contractors discovered that there was a significant amount of deterioration in some of the roof frame, which would have to be replaced before they could complete the job. To help us through this unexpected emergency, the folks at Gutters Unlimited (equally amazing!) contacted Wiedmann to see if they could get a crew out to give us an estimate for the repair. Joe B contacted us and came out to inspect the damage and discovered that there were a number of other problems with the existing roof that should also be addressed (e.g. no metal channels in the roof valleys). He gave us an estimate for the repair as well as an estimate for a complete replacement. The cost of a new roof was about four times the cost of a repair, so we decided to get a new roof. Definitely the right decision. Joe B gave me a detailed scope of work that showed exactly what I would be getting, including Tamko Titan 160 mph Shingles (39 squares), new drip edges, new goosenecks and ventilation stacks, peel and stick underlayment, replacement fascia wood and plywood, and of new valley metal--all top-of-the-line stuff. He was able to schedule the start date within two weeks of contract signing. Work began right on time and was done quickly and professionally in about three days. There was a fair amount of wear and tear to a lot of the underlying plywood, which requited replacing, but this did not slow down the installation crew at all. Daily clean up was meticulous. The bottom line is that Wiedmann stepped up to help us out of a jam, came through with a superlatively-engineered solution and gave us a remarkably fair price (significantly less than all of the estimates that we had received from some other roofers). During the entire process, communication was effortless. I ask a lot of annoying questions and they answered all of them patiently and clearly. Joe A was a fountain of information on design and installation and Emily offered tremendous assistance in dealing with permits and inspections. If you're looking for a new roof, save yourself some time and call Wiedmann."

"I would look no further than this company. Edgar, the owner, is one of the most honest business professionals I have ever worked with. My roof was done in ONE day and it is so beautiful! The price was amazing , right on par with the four others I looked at but the best price around. All of his workers were polite , respectful and punctual. I really would not want anyone I know to hire anyone but this company!"

"I was tired of all the door-knocking roofers but concerned with the aged condition of my 20-year-old roof. Based on reviews and experience I called Greenway for an evaluation. Todd provided a straightforward evaluation with competitive pricing, and we completed the transaction. Todd and his crew performed a high-quality job, addressing observed issues and replacing underlying wood, underlayment, shingles, fixtures, and gutters to meet current standards. The team worked efficiently, cleaned up thoroughly, and left a positive impression, leaving me confident I can recommend Greenway to others for their professionalism and affordability."

"Very well. The workman replaced missing shingles, including cap shingles that were not installed with the right size nail, and cemented down shingles that had been wind-lifted due to improper installation by a different contractor. I want to make it clear that All About Roofing was repairing a different contractors poor work. We are very satisfied with the finished work and the warranty provided on their repairs."

"Chief Inspection services also owns Topline Construction Services. Topline completed a re-roof almost two years ago on my home. Since then we've had 14 leaks (yep, still leaking), water damage, and there's still an open failed inspection with multiple code violations. Code violations that this “master inspector” claims he did not see but are very obvious. Topline has yet to fix my roof and clear the final inspection. How many more leaks or how long do I need to wait Topline... Here's a huge tip! When contractors say they are "insured", make sure their policy covers their work..."

FAQs for heating cable for roof installation projects in Patrick-afb, FL

A typical heat cable uses 5 watts per foot, regardless of the outside temperature. So, if your cable is 100 feet long, it uses 500 watts per hour. Expect to pay an additional $40 to $200 or more per month on your electricity bill. Be sure to turn manual cables off in the summer when you don't need them.

To install heat tape on your roof, place it along the lower edge in a precise zig-zag pattern to maximize coverage and heat distribution. Professional installers secure the tape with specialized clips that attach firmly to your shingles. This method ensures even heat distribution to effectively melt ice and snow while maintaining your roof's integrity during severe winter conditions.

Choosing between heated gutters and roof heating cables usually comes down to budget, appearance, and performance. Heated gutters cost less to install and blend seamlessly with your home’s exterior, making them a discreet, lower-cost option for preventing ice dams. Roof heating cables deliver more customizable and powerful heat along roof edges to handle heavy snow and ice, but they require more material and labor, increasing your upfront investment. Evaluate your roof design, winter weather demands, and energy budget to select the system that works best for your property.

Roof heating cables prevent ice dams by melting snow and stopping ice buildup at the roof edge. Ice damming occurs when melting snow refreezes on a cold roof—often right above the gutter line—and blocks water from draining, which can force moisture under shingles into your home. Heating cables maintain a warm channel that clears ice dams as soon as they form and protects your roof from water damage and structural issues.

Roof heating cables last between two and ten years before replacement is needed, wearing out faster than your roof itself. Their lifespan depends on climate severity, cable type, and exposure to physical damage. Consistent inspections and preventative maintenance—such as clearing debris, tightening clips, and checking electrical connections—can extend their service life and ensure reliable snow and ice protection each winter.

To safely remove snow from your roof, start with a specially designed roof rake, standing firmly on the ground and pulling snow downhill rather than climbing onto the roof. You can also apply calcium chloride ice melt to break up stubborn ice or gently use a secured rope from a safe vantage point.

Keep in mind that large snow slabs can weigh hundreds of pounds and pose a serious fall risk. If conditions are hazardous or you lack the right equipment, hire a professional to protect your safety and your roof’s integrity.
