"We had a lot of damage from Hurricane Ian and Witty Innova did all the repairs except for the roof! Wonderful, talented group and outstanding communicators! I'm praying we never need that much work done again but would most definitely hire them!"

"David and his employers are very polite and professional. They really have roof installations down to a science. They are very fast at getting the work done. I noticed how long other peoples roofs were taking and all I can say is I am glad I hired them instead of the other roofers. I was also impressed by how there was no mess after the job was done. I never found any lost nails or scraps of debris. David does a lot of roofs in the area and even did my neighbors house across the street. They did my father's roof as well and he is the pickiest customer and he will suggest David without question. We had him come out and do a room repair after a neighbors tree fell on the roof and a limb went right through the roof. I can't tell the difference of where the old roof and the repair were done."

"Exactly as planned without a single hitch. A clip had somehow become flipped up during installation resulting in a very small but immediately noticable leak. I called Eric Payne and the crew showed up the next day to implement a complete repair. Additionally, and I think most telling of their attention to detail and customer focus is this; During the normal course of a standard roof replacement, it was discovered that there was major wood decay and rot that caused extensive mold and other visible/structural damage. The THR crew never skipped a beat. They brought in additional supplies and effected a complete repair."

"We had our tile roof replaced by SolarShield in June 2019. The SolarShield crew was excellent. Showed up on time and cleaned up the work area every night before leaving for the day. Work was estimated to take 5 days, but they finished in 4 days. They do a quality, professional job. We expect no problems with this new roof for years and years to come."

"Nick is a great carpenter and general do-almost-everything guy and I'm sure he is capable of doing much more intricate woodworking than I ever required. I certainly would use him for anything to do with wood and obviously he does much more. In addition, he is great about letting me know exactly when he will be here. He is very professional and particular. Two thumbs way up!
Note: I did not put an approximate cost of service because he has done so many jobs for me. He will price a big job by the job, or he can charge by the hour for this and that."

FAQs for wood stairs and railings installation and replacement projects in Patrick-afb, FL

Pressure-treated lumber is the most inexpensive deck railing material. It's a cost-effective option that offers a good balance of durability and affordability for budget-conscious homeowners. Pressure-treated wood meets essential safety standards while keeping upfront costs low. In contrast, vinyl, polyurethane, and composite materials tend to be more expensive but offer additional aesthetic and maintenance benefits.

To calculate how much deck railing you need, measure the length of all the edges of your deck where railings are required (excluding any openings or areas bordered by the house). Since precise measurements are crucial, it's a good idea to hire a professional. Contractors have the expertise to accurately measure and install your deck railings.

In most cases, safety standards require railings on steps with more than four risers, steps wider than 44 inches, and decks over 30 inches high, measured from the next level down.

Railings should also be between 34 and 38 inches tall. Regulations can vary based on your location, so it's important to check your local building codes or consult a local contractor. There are also rules about the size of the gaps between pickets and between the bottom of the railing and the deck.

Before installing a railing on your front porch, you'll need to check local permitting requirements. Local building authorities may have specific codes that require a permit—or, in some cases, no permit at all. Reviewing your city's guidelines and consulting a qualified professional will help ensure your project meets all legal and safety standards, preventing any unexpected issues during inspections.

Deciding whether to repair or replace your deck railings depends on the extent of the damage and whether you can match new materials to the old ones. If you have minor issues, repair might be an option. However, when it's challenging to match existing materials, replacing the railings can give your deck a fresh start and reset its lifespan. A decking expert can assess your railings and recommend the best course of action to improve safety and maintain a cohesive look.
