"Our goal was to built a custom boulder wall to match our existing custom wall and have a custom firepit sit on the wall surrounded by a slate sitting area. We originally contacted Rotten Rock from signage that was placed in front of another job that we would admire on our drive. From the moment we connected with Rotten Rock owners Todd and Henry we were confident they were the right people for our challenging job. They started by taking us to a similar site to show us a recent job that was close to our plan. Needless to stay the job was amazing and gave us the additional level of confidence to make the commitment to move forward. Our job was very challenging and was completed in about 3-4 weeks and during those 3-4 weeks we were not at the house to manage any aspect of their work. Once the job was completed we drove up for the weekend to take a look. My wife and I were blown away. It actually looked like an extension of our yard/hardscaping that was always there. The boulder wall, the firepit, the tree removal, the slate and the new sod looked awesome together. Henry even said he picked out the matching boulders to match the existing walls. We get compliments on the work every week we are at the property and constantly get asked who did the work. "Although the project turned out to be more complicated and took longer than expected, this had little to do with <br /> the builder or his sub-contractors. Primarily the delays were due to weather, financing issues, and poor <br /> communications on the part of the town's code enforcement officer. <br /> Let me address this last issue first. Everything seemed to be alright until the pad was poured. The code <br /> enforcement officer was upset that she was not notified prior to the pouring of the cement so she could inspect <br /> the forms and re-bar. This and quot;misunderstandingand quot; occurred because the CEO never communicated to either myself or the <br /> contractor at what points during the project she wanted to perform inspections. However, from this point forward <br /> the CEO seemed to question every aspect of the project. Demonstrating considerable restraint and diplomacy, most <br /> of the time the contractor bowed to her demands (he was much , but drew the line at her trying to force him to <br /> install a water shutoff valve in a location that would likely have caused our well pump to burn out. In this <br /> case Greg Bragg stood his ground, backing it up with State of Maine statutes. <br /> With respect to the weather, June 2013 was one of the wettest on record for Maine. As far as financing, the <br /> magnitude and cost of the project exceeded what we had budgeted and we found out just how difficult it is to <br /> secure financing for rental property, especially if you are setting up a used mobile home. Consequently, we had <br /> to break the project into two phases. <br /> The demolition of the old house and initial site preparation went very smoothly as can be seen in this 8 minute <br /> YouTube video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CWaJEgV2iJE). <br /> Getting the mobile home onto the pad was a bit more interesting since the ground was still very muddy from all <br /> the rain we received in June and July. Fortunately, Greg Bragg of Bragg Builders had the foresight to keep a <br /> bulldozer onsite. Prior to <br /> constructing the gravel pad a brand new water line was installed and was even packed in sand to ensure rocks <br /> would not rupture the line. Unfortunately, a rupture occurred anyway. Fortunately, the contractor promptly <br /> installed a new water line, at no charge to us. <br />"

He comes up with plans to put everything in. I had another contractor working with him. He has a relationship with many contractors in the area. He is really responsive. He is really good at design and the things that he does. I will use him again."
