"These men did great work! Came out to do the estimate, told me I didn't need full deck replacement, and charged what they quoted. (That last part is a big deal.) I recommend them highly! "

"First his integrity is zero! I hired him to soft clean my roof, followed by bleach and zinc sulfate treatment. He showed up with two off the shelf products from Lowe?s, neither contained bleach or zinc sulfate, he ensured me they would work just as well. His idea of a soft clean was to use my garden hose to hose down the roof-followed by spraying the two products on the roof. There were areas where the products did not even reach. I contacted him the next day to let him know, the roof looked no cleaner than before-true to form, no response-integrity issue again! He also said the quote included taxes-you don?t pay taxes on labor unless it?s stated separately on an itemized bill-he did not provide a receipt of any kind. His text to me before the job clearly stated-soft clean, bleach and zinc sulfate treatment. He also said the results would be visible the same day, unfortunately the roof was wet all day, so I could not tell. The photos are the day after treatment, and his text! Update as of 12/23/2025 This is in response to William landscape company about my review of his initial roof cleaning job done for me. Facts: 1. My house is approximatively 2800 sf-we agreed that he would only do the front because the back and sides were ok. 2. He quoted me a price of 650-plus fees and taxes 3. We agreed on 500 for the job 4. He stated he gave me a "HUGE" discount in his response 5. Please see pic of the quote he texted me based on pricing per sq ft. 6. The section he did was less than 1000sf-so based on his own quote, the 500 I paid was more than I should have 7. He did guarantee the product would work in lieu of using bleach and zinc sulfate 8. His idea of the #1 approved product has a 3.6 start rating from customers 9. He had time to respond but did not-until after my review 10. His resolution was to charge me half price for another application 11. He bragged to me about taking my money for basically doing nothing See pics of areas of the roof he did not treat and his quote! "This is frustrating, because our initial experience in February 2019 with Swift was fantastic. Heather was always attentive, helpful, and responsive. When we did the final walkaround, she quickly made sure things were corrected. Within less than a year's time, the vinyl siding portion of our sunroom started to buckle because of the heat, even though the paint was guaranteed to prevent this from happening. Swift and Heather quickly worked with SW to find matching siding and came out to repaint the damaged section after being repaired. Unfortunately, this is where things started to fall apart. Once the repainting of the new vinyl siding and some touchups on other portions of the sunroom where the paint started to flake/bubble were completed, Heather pointed out that it was NOT the same color as what was already on the house. Because we had leftover paint from when the work was originally completed, we were able to compare the two side-by-side to verify this together. Then it became a waiting game while they tried to get things straightened out with SW regarding why the paint didn't match. While we were waiting, the NEW siding started to buckle as well, so on Valentine’s Day 2020, I called Heather and left a VM, but there was no response. I sent pictures to her email, and received an auto response indicating the email address was no longer valid. Red flag. OK, I had spoken with the owner previously and still had his email address, so I reached out to him both via email (with pictures) and via telephone, and again no response. It was right about this time that COVID hit and the world stopped, and I was afraid something might have happened to the folks at Swift and their business was a casualty of the pandemic; their Facebook page didn't show any updates, and calls to the number on their site went straight to voicemail. A few months later, I figured I'd check their FB page again on a lark and, lo and behold, it looked like they were back in business! I figured there was a hiccup in their operations b/c of the pandemic but that things were getting back to normal for them. I was glad because a) I didn't want to see their business suffer, and b) I thought we could get things resolved. So, being hopeful, I called again on July 10, and even though it went straight to voicemail, I left another message and waited patiently. and waited... and waited… And because other emergencies occurred in the meantime, on November 15th I called and left another message… and waited.... and waited.... And on December 14th I called and left another message… and waited.... and waited.... (you see where this is going) So as of today, February 5, 2021, we still have warped siding on one side of our sunroom and mismatched paint on multiple areas of the house, and a completely non-responsive contractor. Based on the earlier positive experience, I had given them the benefit of the doubt and truly was not worried, but after trying for months to get a response, I'm afraid to say I was mistaken."

FAQs for gutters & downspouts cleaning service projects in Phenix City, AL

You’ll want to clean gutters once or twice a year—in early spring and again in fall—to keep water flowing and avoid pricey leaks. Homes tucked beneath tall trees or hit with heavy debris may need two to four visits instead. Staying on schedule protects your roof, siding, and foundation from costly water damage.

Even with gutter guards, plan on an occasional cleaning—just not as often as homes without guards. Installing gutter guards blocks leaves, but grit and shingle granules still slip through and pile up over time. A quick sweep keeps water moving and stops overflow that can damage your roof or foundation.

Watch for overflowing water, slow or silent downspouts, sagging sections, or debris peeking over the gutter edge. You might also spot water stains, weeds, or an increasing number of ants in certain areas. Any of these red flags means it’s time to call a gutter cleaning pro for service before minor clogs turn into major leaks.

Skip cleanings for too long and gutters overflow, sending water under shingles, down siding, and toward the foundation. The result can be mold, rotted fascia, basement leaks, and repair bills that dwarf the price of a quick cleaning. It can also mean that future cleanings will be more expensive as it will take pros longer to deep clean gutters that are full of heavy debris. Staying on schedule saves money and headaches.

Plan on gutter cleaning service to take an average of one hour for an average single-story home and two to three hours for taller houses. Add extra time if gutter guards need to come off or clogs are packed in. Pros work methodically, clearing every linear foot so water can flow freely again.
