"Last week we had SurfacePro paint our upstairs & hallway, stairwell & foyer. They did a wonderful job. We will definitely hire them again. Rob & Andy were very polite & helpful in meeting our concerns. "

"They didn't really pay attention to detail. They slept paint on outlets door knobs window sills that another company had to clean or clear the paint so that I could open the windows lock doors and to use the outlets. They also recommended me to purchase an enormous amount of paint that I never used."

"Abi and his worker Roberto were a pleasure to have in our home. They were quiet, hardworking and focused on the job. They beautifully painted 2 bedrooms and a bathroom. Their preparation made sure everything was protected professionally. All the wall/trim joints were caulked perfectly! The rooms look the best they’ve looked in the 10 years we have livd here. We will certainly have Abi do more work for us. "

"Bilevel home consisting of three bedrooms, two bathrooms, living room, dining room, kitchen, and stairwell with landing. Removed popcorn ceiling, skim coated ceiling and painted 2 coats on ceiling, walls, doors and trim. Moved large pieces of furniture as necessary to complete work. Excellent communication. Coordinated job with homeowner. Protected house items such as carpets, floors, ductwork, kitchen cabinets, etc from debris dust and paint-splatter as necessary. I have worked with many contractors in the past and this was one of the best. Highly recommend and would hire again."

FAQs for small projects painting or staining projects in Philadelphia, PA

You'll need about two gallons of paint to fully cover your kitchen cabinets with two coats. Since each gallon covers around 350 square feet, it's a good idea to measure your cabinets or use a paint calculator to determine exactly how much you'll need. Starting with one or two coats of primer and then applying two to three layers of paint will give you a flawless, durable finish. Using high-quality paint can reduce the number of coats needed and provide a long-lasting finish.

The best type of paint for your kitchen cabinets is latex paint because it applies evenly and creates a durable finish. If you're painting wood surfaces and need extra adhesion, acrylic paint is a great alternative. We don't recommend oil-based paint for residential use due to its VOC emissions. For finishes, go with eggshell, semi-gloss, gloss, or satin, as matte finishes aren't as durable or as easy to clean.

The best method for painting kitchen cabinets is spray painting because it gives you a smooth, even finish without brush strokes. While brushes and rollers can work, they often leave marks and require more effort. If you're aiming for a professional look, spray painting is your best bet to enhance the beauty and durability of your cabinets.
