Customers say: Quality work

"Updated Review/ Renew Cabinets 1. Photos are of our kitchen island drawer fronts after less than 1 year actual use (seasonal) by 2 adults 2. The occasional, undetected, smallest water droplet penetrates the material resulting in blistering! One can only logically conclude the materials used & promoted by Renew Cabinets are NOT appropriate in any place that an occasional, undetected liquid droplet may land (ie. Kitchens, laundry rooms, bathrooms) 3. Renew Cabinets clearly is aware of this major issue & have covered themselves legally ( but not morally!). Their care instructions & VERY ?limited warranty ? specifically EXCLUDES any & all water damage REGARDLESS of the time frame, circumstances & even ?normal wear?? this says it ALL We put our trust & faith in Renew Cabinets for our small kitchen at a cost of $18,663.92 Upon completion of the project we VERY GENEROUSLY gave a 5 star review. Regretfully, we are now compelled ethically to warn others."

"$30,000 later and they still have not responded to our complaints. I send photos of cabinet seams not finished, some material from the cabinets hanging in spots, exposed nail heads, which caught my fingers and cuticles causing bleeding. The center island has scratches and exposed nails, again causing damage to not just my wrist but my husband's hand. We ordered 3" molding, therefore there was a need to build out two cabinets. They look great. It caused a huge gap between the refrigerator and the pantry. We were aware of this, and I told Jon-Michael I would fill the gap, no problem. In the end, they left the molding off the top of the pantry because they were concerned about us not being able to open the door above the refrigerator. The contract read that it was to be added above the pantry. Then we contracted for 5 glass cabinet doors with triple panes. They installed plain glass. Since words are ltd. I will continue with an ongoing review under this one. "

"We hired Arizona Kitchens and Refacing for a large project of refacing cabinets in our kitchen, bar, hallway, and laundry room as well as adding new cabinets in our bonus room. The quality of their work is impeccable. I have worked with contractors for decades and I have never worked with a contractor that was a perfect 10 until I met and hired Keith. Keith and his crew are that good. My wife and I could not be any happier and a huge thank you goes out to Keith and his crew for making our home look beautiful. You guys are simply the best."

FAQs for cabinets reface projects in Phoenix, AZ

Absolutely. Refacing returns 65% to 80% of your investment at resale, and you get an updated kitchen right now. Because you’re not paying for new boxes or demo work, the price lands well below complete replacement but still delivers a fresh, custom look that buyers—and you—notice every time you walk in.

To trim costs, start by pricing a high-quality paint or gel stain instead of full refacing—stain alone can be one-third the price of full refacing. Keep existing hinges and pulls if they’re in good shape, and shop sales for sandpaper, primer, and sealer. The sweat equity is real, but so are the savings, and a careful DIY job can still leave your cabinets looking sharp for years to come.

A professional crew needs only three to five days to reface a standard kitchen, although a larger layout or intricate door style may add one to two days. Compare that with the several weeks a full cabinet swap can drag on. In other words, you get your space back fast, often before the paint on the new doors is even fully cured.

Yes, you can replace just the cabinet doors and drawer fronts without covering the cabinet boxes. Cabinet refacing involves installing new doors and drawer fronts while applying veneers to existing cabinet boxes. If you’re satisfied with the condition of your cabinets, swapping doors and drawer fronts reduces labor and materials, saving you time and cost. Always consult a professional to confirm compatibility and ensure a seamless, high-quality finish.

Most cabinet refacing projects do not require removing countertops because professionals can access doors and drawers around existing surfaces. However, if your countertop overhang prevents full access to the cabinet boxes, contractors may need to lift the countertop to install veneers properly temporarily. Discuss this with your refacing specialist during the on-site estimate so you know exactly what the project entails.
