"Roof from entire structure was removed and new roof was installed. Garage never had vents, so 3 new vents were added to garage and 4 vents added to roof. New gutters were installed as were new down spouts. We had class IV shingles installed."

"I would absolutely use them again. As with any project, there were some minor issues. Brooks resolved them to our satisfaction. The roof is top quality and looks great. Their clean up after the project was excellent."

"Scott's Roofing was awesome! The project manager/consultant was extremely organized and extremely knowledgeable on all aspects of roofing and dealing with the insurance company, so professional and considerate. No nonsense, fixed issues that other roofing companies prior to them had not addressed. Listened to us and gave solutions to concerns long before any work was started. The roofers were excellent as well. They were so methodical in their processes that they had our roof done in 2 days while everyone else in our neighborhood was putting up with 1-3 weeks for replacement roofs. When they removed the damaged roof, they brought piles to the front of the house where the dumpster was and threw everything in there instead of dropping roofing all over the yard and then having to go pick it up and put it in the dumpster, thus saving time and not creating messes. Brilliant! Left NO messes whatsoever in our yard. The finished roof was excellent."

"Ryan was very professional. He showed up to do my estimate right on time. His estimate was very reasonable. He was knowledgeable about the requirements of the city codes. His crew was prompt and did a good job. The day after the roofing was installed, Ryan came through and carefully inspected that everything was done 100% right. I highly recommend."

"This experience was about as good as a used car lot, as soon as you sign on the dotted line they forget about the promises they made in order to get you to sign. The sales rep. said he would be at our house every step of the way to ensure that things go smooth, roofing materials showed up on time, roofers show up, no supervision from sales rep or lead roofer, a 1 day install. The gutter guy...guy (1) shows up and he worked his tail off over the weekend (about 24+ hours), good job, but he noticed the roofers didn't seal nails that hold top ridge cap ends down so he notified office. Now the fun begins, the roofers snipped the drip edge at every gutter hanger instead of taking the time to do it right (at least for quality purposes). This shortcut could have been avoided but the office assumed that the gutters were not approved so they hurried with the roof anyway. Still no sales rep. representation as promised because they didn't even know where their sales rep. was, they asked me if I had seen or heard from him. gutter leaks behind gutter, drip edge cut jagged and too short, CSR's showing up when they feel like and not at set appt. times. (always when we are not home to explain concerns to remedy the mistakes). One thing they were consistent with was the request to be paid in full, not even once did they ask if we were satisfied with the work performed but instead hounding our insurance company for money. Now we are getting notices from them to pay in full or they will begin the lien process, still have not completed to our satisfaction."

"Overall I was quite happy with this work. Logan was very responsive and we worked out scheduling no problem. They didn't push any thing in particular but responded to my questions and we worked out what we wanted to do with a ridge vent vs. replacing the current vents or using a powered vent.  Price seemed a little better than other vendors. Workers were experienced. Metal trim was delivered to my beforehand so I could paint to match our house trim. There was some damage on one part of the roof where there was just a small place to work. A repairman was dispatched who did a nice job replacing the trim and painting it to match. <br />"

FAQs for roofing installation & roof repair projects in Pierce, CO

An average Cape Cod roof-raising project requires approximately two to three months from start to finish. The timeline depends on several variables, including weather conditions, contractor availability, material delivery schedules, and the specific complexity of your home's structure. The process involves multiple phases, including demolition, framing, roofing, window installation, and interior finishing. Working with an experienced contractor who provides a detailed timeline can help set realistic expectations for the project duration.

While most Cape Cod homes can accommodate roof-raising modifications, each house requires individual structural assessment. Older homes may need foundation reinforcement or wall strengthening before supporting additional weight. Factors like the existing roof framing system, load-bearing wall placement, and overall structural integrity all influence feasibility. A qualified structural engineer should evaluate your specific property before proceeding with design plans. Additionally, local zoning ordinances may restrict maximum building height or architectural modifications in certain neighborhoods.

Temporary relocation is highly recommended during a Cape Cod roof raising project. The construction process involves removing portions of your existing roof, exposing interior spaces to potential weather damage, and creating significant noise and dust. Most homeowners find temporary accommodations for the two to three-month construction period, with relocation costs ranging from $2,000 to $6,000, depending on your housing choices. If staying with family or friends isn't possible, budget for short-term rental or extended-stay hotel expenses as part of your overall project cost.

Consider roof raising when you experience severely limited headroom throughout the second floor, find yourself constantly stooping under sloped ceilings, or have minimal usable floor space due to low ceiling heights. Other indicators include inadequate natural light, poor ventilation, and difficulty accommodating standard furniture in upstairs rooms. Simple renovations can improve an attic's appearance, but cannot create additional headroom without structural modifications. A complete roof-raising project makes more sense than cosmetic renovations if you're seeking genuine second-floor living space rather than just storage improvements.

Begin your search by seeking contractors with specific experience in Cape Cod structural modifications and dormer additions. Request detailed portfolios showing similar completed projects and ask for references from previous clients with comparable work. Verify that potential contractors hold appropriate licenses and insurance coverage and understand local building codes relevant to roof raising. Interview multiple candidates, comparing price quotes and their communication style, project approach, and proposed timeline. The ideal contractor should demonstrate a thorough understanding of Cape Cod architectural characteristics and structural requirements.
