"Very well except one of my trees died. It was an expensive miniature magnolia. He would not replace or discuss giving me a break on a replacement."

"David Lusk was very accommodating in arranging a time for us to meet to review my tree removal needs, and he was very thorough in talking me through the considerations and issues that the job presented. I received his bid very promptly, but it was the highest among the three estimates I received. All providers contacted for bids were highly-rated on Angie's List. The other bids I received were $3300 and $3700, but Mr. Lusk submitted an estimate of $7200. (The work has since been satisfactorily completed by the lowest bidder.)
David was knowledgeable and professional and I would have no concerns or worries about how he would handle any tree care needs one might have. He seemed genuinely perplexed (and perhaps vexed!) at the great disparity between his and the other two bids, although it seems the discrepancy was partially due to a much larger cost for a crane to be brought in, which is a sub-contractor issue. (His crane cost was anticipated to be $2800; the other two bidders both figured the crane cost at around $1000, which I think was still greater than the actual total when the job was done.)
David also theorized that perhaps other bids were lower because he has to account for insurance and workmen's comp coverage; the winning bid for the job was also well-covered in both respects, so that must not have been it either.
I would not rule out using Lusk in the future; I was inspired with confidence in my interactions with David. In this case, I could not justify the premium price attached to his services."

"Randy was very quick to come out for an estimate; the same afternoon. The work was accomplished around spotty to persistent storms in August 2016. The work was estimated to take 3 days and might have been finished in that time had the crew not been rained out late one afternoon and waiting for dry conditions on another morning or two. No trees fell on my house and all brush was hauled off as I requested. Wood left onsite was cut into manageable logs that I'll split and use in my woodstove this winter. I didn't get multiple quotes, but the price seemed reasonable based on some other tree work my family has had done in the past (by other companies). The largest tree that was taken down (an old maple) was quoted at $950 but was a special case; the trunk was probably 4' in diameter, rotting, and had a large limb overhanging the house. The two other trees taken down were also fairly large but were quoted at $550 each."

"These guys were super nice and the actual tree climber was fabulous. It ended up I knew some of this crew from 20 years ago when they worked with another tree company that was absolutely fabulous! So when I realized the connection, I was super excited and relieved to have them on my property. They did a great job! I would highly recommend them! They were responsive when I called, gave me a good solid quote, and even offered to help move some fencing so they could get the job done faster and better. I am getting ready to call them to see if they will do some lawn work for me this week. Great group of guys for sure.
