Customers say: Quality work

"Let me just say that this company did a lot more work than sod. Tri-star Landscaping rejuvenated my front and backyard! From dead or overgrown tree removal to replacing rocks with bark and cement work all around my house, Tri-Star Landscaping is the VERY BEST! A few years later and the work they did is holding up and my home still has great curb appeal. Lastly, the $ was the price (no surprises), the team was on time, professional, and never left any mess at the end of the work day. The projects were also completed in the time quoted. I enthusiastically recommend Tri-star Landscaping. Hire this company and you’ll thank me later. "

Customers say: True professional

"Overall our experience was fine until the end. They left several issues with our remodeled bathroom that we had to pay other professionals to redo. Unprofessional and messy at the end. We had to pay someone to repaint our ceiling and bedroom walls after they used the wrong paint color (I gave them the exact paint color) and you could see the difference in shades because they left it half covered. We also had to have a plumber come fix the hot water pressure in the brand new sink, the brand new toilet handle, repair the brand-new sink leak and other technical issues that shouldn't happen with a NEW remodel. Overall they did fine, but when you pay an exorbitant amount everything should be left in working order and pristine. I would not use their services again, and was disappointed by the way they left things."

Customers say: Quick response

"I have a small backyard. David called me on Sunday, came gave me and estimate on Monday, and installed on Tuesday. They were friendly and efficient. They arrived about 8:30 in the morning, and were finished by noon. It went from a weedy, muddy space. And when they left, I had a beautiful yard that I want to spend time in."

FAQs for concrete patios, walks & steps installation projects in Pinole, CA

Most sidewalks rely on a ready‑mix blend of Portland cement, sand, gravel, and water that trucks deliver to your site and pour in one continuous lift. For added strength, many contractors fold in fiber mesh or steel reinforcement. This mix cures into a rock‑solid slab that stands up to foot traffic, freeze‑thaw cycles, and daily wear for decades. Expect a pro to recommend a 4‑inch‑thick pour for standard walkways.

With the right mix, proper drainage, and routine upkeep, a concrete sidewalk can last 25 to 50 years. Freeze‑thaw cycles, road salt, and heavy loads all shorten that timeline, but sealing every few years and patching small cracks early keeps damage in check. Think of sealing as inexpensive insurance for decades of safe, stable footing. In milder climates, some slabs push well past the 30‑year mark without major repairs.

Concrete sidewalks crack as a result of significant temperature fluctuations and heavy load pressures. The freeze-thaw cycles and sustained weight from vehicles or intense foot traffic force the concrete to develop cracks over time. Applying a premium sealant every two to three years and substituting salt with sand for de-icing minimizes crack formation. Regular maintenance and timely repairs safeguard the sidewalk’s structural integrity and extend its service life.
