"Gus Mendez, the owner, was amazing. This was a very complex project repairing cracks in our living/dining room foundation. More extensive problems were discovered as the original 35 y/o foundation was poorly done. Gus figured it all out, removed the old foundation and the 8" of wet dirt underneath and replaced with 8" gravel, then rebar grid at 12", then new concrete and tile. Gus was a highly creative technical engineer and problem solver, and with a highly artistic/esthetic sense. There was really no one else who could have done this, as the only other company that does this had an insufficient assessment for the bid. See photos for the process and outcome."

"The team was here when they said they would be and were always polite and professional and answered any questions that I had. The job took roughly four days to complete. After a few days I noticed a couple issue towards the end of the driveway so I contacted them and they came out to assess the issue and agreed they would address my concerns. "Start was delayed by one day. Initial walk through with foreman did not happen as he did not show up until later. (He took very incomplete notes during initial contract discussion so made assumptions and mistakes, as did I.) Lost an entire faucet because I missed it on their contract rewrite. Ugh! Had to argue to get them to replace correct buckled walkway sections. The morning of the concrete deck pour had to have them reframe the deck due to not paying attention to detail. Also, I had to wrangle with them to come pick up the wood from the rotting decking being replaced with the concrete pour. It was way to much stress with these guys. This said, they were the best price. If you insist on a formal pre-contract-start walk through to make sure everyone is on the same page, they have good workers who know their stuff. The work is quality work. If you go in knowing you have to be the project manager, you can save a few bucks."

"MC bid 4000 psi concrete with rebar, although driveways are typically 3000 psi with mesh. Crew arrived on schedule. First day was old driveway removal then prep for the pour. Put in 1/2 in rebar on 24 in centers with standoffs. Very meticulous. Took them from 7 AM until about noon. Pour started at 6 AM on the second day. Extensive careful finishing which wasn't completed until about 11 AM. They put a lightly brushed finish on it. Third day one of the crew returned to remove the forms and generally clean up and touch up. Crew obviously knew what they were doing. Resulting driveway looks excellent. Can't comment on durability for about another 10 years or so. :) Overall, MC did an excellent job and I would use them again and recommend them to others. They stepped on a couple of plants, but that was unavoidable. No issues whatsoever."

"Sergio arrived punctually and analyzed the materials he would need for the repairs. He went to a local near-by hardware store and purchased the necessary sheet rock, which I paid for as it was an extra item. In order to get at the damage, he had to pull off a large 4x4 section of peg-board that itself had been torn. We discussed what might be done to replace,the peg-board but made no decision at that time. I left him to do the work, but when I returned, he had removed the peg-board so carefully that it could be remounted and used again, over the now completely repaired and re plastered damage! He also had spied a crack in the garage ceiling that I had overlooked, and repaired it with tape at his own initiative! Impressive work! I would call upon D&R again for this kind of repair. They also do other kinds of construction work, such as replacing cracked sidewalk or worn driveways."
