"Right from the start everything went like "clockwork". Communications and scheduling were timely and accurate. Marsha kept us informed every step of the way. The estimate for the job was fair and reasonable and we signed on and scheduled the job. Showing up on time, communicating necessary information such as delivery of supplies and job scheduling are important. They followed through perfectly. The job was done in one day, the crew was professional, experienced and very clean. We are delighted with our new patio and we do not hesitate to recommend Exotic Pavers to anyone. So, do yourself a big favor, call them for an estimate...you'll be very glad you did!!"

"This is one of the BEST COMPANIES I have ever worked with! They are very responsive & HONEST!! - After they excavated the sites it was discovered there where Helical piers from a past job of theirs from many years ago... maybe even 20 years ago. Nolan Beery came down to Indianapolis to see the piers first hand - and covered them with their lifetime warranty. I was not the original owner that added the piers... they found the receipt that they did do the work many years ago for a previous owner of my home. They covered majority of the pier sites under their warranty. THERE ARE FEW COMPANIES THAT HAVE THIS HONESTY & INTEGRITEY LIKE ACCULEVEL. Acculevel is one of the best companies I have worked with. Hands down if you need any foundation work by a professional company that stands by their work Acculevel is the choice!"

"Of all the people that left bids this expert found a void under another adjacent slab. Our driveway is patterned concrete and the look could never be matched with a replacement slab. Knowledgable, articulate, and wore a mask when asked."

"They went above and beyond for this work.  It took over three weeks to complete.  We were provided with regular, detailed updates.  They made some recommendations and suggestions during the process, all of which were thoughtful and helpful.  The completed job looks just amazing - like an entirely new basement. The painting they did was way beyond adequate -- they included areas that required intensive cleaning and some repairs -- we are thrilled!   The water/moisture repairs were "tested" by some very intense rain storms and came through with flying colors!  I'm convinced that Perry & Perry are not only superlative contractors, but also completely trustworthy, honest people who take great pride in the work they do.  I recommend them without reservation!"

"They showed up on time on the day they said they would be there. I did ask the lead guy about having a new garage built. He said his area didn't do that but he would have another member of the company get back with me. No one ever did."

"I was out of town when the work was done. Once I got home, it looked like only the caulking had been done because the two sections were still lower than the rest of the driveway. Eric stopped by and let me know that when they tried leveling, the adjacent concrete slab started to raise, so they had to stop. I didn't know that this was even a possibility, so I was disappointed. There were a few spots where the caulking didn't completely cover the seam. I expressed my concern and Eric came back to fix these problem areas. Eric was very patient with me as I was having health issues and was not very responsive to his voicemails. He remained pleasant and professional, which I greatly appreciated. I would hire them again if needed, and would recommend."

"Things went pretty well the work was done quickly and professionally. The technician was patient as I peppered him with questions since this is my first gas log fireplace. The only problem, and this was a complete accident, was that when taking out the sooty logs to clean them he dropped one on the rug outside my door. That would have not been a big deal had he told me about it, but not telling me allowed me to step in it and track it around a bit before noticing it. Luckily it was only spread to hard surfaces and was easy enough to clean up. <br />"

"Trace from Ark came out to look at the job in the fall and give us a quote. He recommended that we might want to hire a structural engineer independently to make certain he was getting it right. We did, and everything aligned with what he saw. He also drilled and found a void in the fill under the garage, so he had us get a concrete lifting company to come out and fill it in first to make sure their anchors would hold properly. That happened in April, and then Ark came on May 4th to put anchors in. It only took a day and a half, and it was easy, efficient, and smooth. There was no hard sell, they took their time making sure they covered all bases, and their quote came in about half of the other major companies who came out to look at the job. Would definitely recommend."

"I found Kevon Binder and Walter Brown to be quite professional and very polite. They explained what they were doing and why, They covered their shoes as well as putting a trap of sorts in front of the fireplace to prevent soot from getting on my floor. If I need any further assistants with my fireplace I will definitely call and request them. Thank You very much for your help. Wendy Graczyk 120 Kilkenny Dr. Onsted MI 49265"

FAQs for concrete patios, walks & steps installation projects in Pleasant Lake, MI

Most sidewalks rely on a ready‑mix blend of Portland cement, sand, gravel, and water that trucks deliver to your site and pour in one continuous lift. For added strength, many contractors fold in fiber mesh or steel reinforcement. This mix cures into a rock‑solid slab that stands up to foot traffic, freeze‑thaw cycles, and daily wear for decades. Expect a pro to recommend a 4‑inch‑thick pour for standard walkways.

With the right mix, proper drainage, and routine upkeep, a concrete sidewalk can last 25 to 50 years. Freeze‑thaw cycles, road salt, and heavy loads all shorten that timeline, but sealing every few years and patching small cracks early keeps damage in check. Think of sealing as inexpensive insurance for decades of safe, stable footing. In milder climates, some slabs push well past the 30‑year mark without major repairs.

Concrete sidewalks crack as a result of significant temperature fluctuations and heavy load pressures. The freeze-thaw cycles and sustained weight from vehicles or intense foot traffic force the concrete to develop cracks over time. Applying a premium sealant every two to three years and substituting salt with sand for de-icing minimizes crack formation. Regular maintenance and timely repairs safeguard the sidewalk’s structural integrity and extend its service life.
