"Jesse did an excellent job. He was quick and efficient, kept the work area clean. He arrived a little after noon and was done 3:30 pm. We discussed installing three more fans and having him make wooden gate to be placed at the head of the basement stairs. He agreed to do it."

"We received 8 new windows and they are amazing! We first had someone come out to our house and he went through everything with us and showed us a demonstration of the window! That man was so nice and answered all the questions we had he even came back again with little toy cars for my 2 boys! How sweet is that? We received our windows quickly after and they were installed in a fast manner! That gentleman was also very nice and did awesome work! We are very very happy and satisfied with our windows!"

"All work was done in a professional timely manner.  Dug up old driveway and path on a Wed.  Poured on Thurs afternoon.  Removed forms, etc on Fri.  Returned Mon and filled in along the driveway and path with dirt and seed.  Kyle (sales) came out on Tues morning for follow up.  I'm very pleased with the outcome and would recommend to anyone needing new concrete installed."

FAQs for brick and stone patios, walks, and steps installation projects in Pleasant-valley, IA

When cleaning your flagstone patio, begin by gently hosing off loose dirt and debris. Use a mild solution of white vinegar and water or diluted dish soap to scrub the surface with a soft-bristled brush. Avoid using abrasive tools, such as wire brushes, as they can damage the stone’s seal and finish. This careful approach effectively removes mold and grime while preserving the natural beauty of your patio.

Flagstone naturally offers a neutral palette that includes shades of grey, black, red, yellow, brown, and tan, and its inherent color cannot be altered. Choosing varieties like bluestone provides a subtle bluish tint that complements many exterior designs. These natural hues enhance curb appeal and create a refined, timeless look in your outdoor space, ensuring a sophisticated finish with minimal upkeep.

Flagstone for a patio must have a minimum thickness of 1.5 inches to reliably support furniture and foot traffic. Using stone that is two to three inches thick is recommended to ensure lasting durability. The increased thickness prevents cracking under load and enhances long-term performance. Investing in thicker flagstone provides superior stability and resistance to weather conditions, ensuring your outdoor space remains both safe and attractive.

You can paint a flagstone patio by using a high-quality, outdoor elastomeric latex paint designed for heavy foot traffic. Painting not only refreshes the patio’s appearance but also creates a waterproof barrier that protects the stone from damage. Regular reapplication every one to two years maintains its durability and visual appeal, ensuring your patio remains both stylish and well-protected.
