"It went great, it was a messy job because it involved removing the old, nasty insulation, but the guys did their best containing the mess. The attic is very difficult to work in due to the low ceiling and they did a great job, no cracks in the ceiling or anything. I can see now that my neighbors house has icicles (which can signal an impending ice dam), and I have none. "From the day Mac came to our house to explain options and clarify the process and price, we were sold and convinced that using All-Weather Seal was the best option to meet our needs.  Even after the initial order we requested a few minor changes and he was very accommodating.  In fact, as we placed the order over Labor Day Weekend, he even came to my work place to pick up the check we made and finish all details for the order.  After we finished the order when we finalized changes, Mac came back to my office to sign the contract again with requested changes.  He always accommodated our needs and our work and after-work schedules of my wife and me.  Just about the time we were going to call All-Weather Seal about the installation of the windows, sure enough Mac called again and let me know I would  be hearing from the installers about setting up a date/day/time to do the work.  One of the staff came to do one final measurement of all the windows and within a few days the installers came to our home on a Saturday to remove our old windows and install the new ones.  They were on time and prompt in their arrival.  They were respectful of our home and took care to make sure everything was done properly with the installation throughout the day.  As they worked they cleaned up what was not needed any more, then left the area in front of our home spotless as if they had never been there and the new windows had always been in place.  We were totally impressed with the entire process, the price and the work ethic, honesty and workmanship of all involved.  While we did not have a budget to do ALL the windows at this time for our entire house, we would contact All-Weather Seal in a minute if and when we are interested or able to install other windows or doors in our home.

"He came out in Spring and gave me the quote for the work.  He was very friendly.  It didn't get done until October.  I kept working with them because there was some highway work in the area.  They poured in October.  I called in February and told about the cracks and sent pictures and didn't get any response. We had a slab replaced the slab where puddling was taking place in October.  All other 7 slabs have hairline cracks in them that are going up all along the house.  He said they put the wire mesh down and they can't guarantee work with the Michigan Winters.  Then, he said he couldn't do anything until Spring.  It didn't even last 2 months.  I gave them an opportunity to come out and take care of it.  I called 2 weeks ago and he just said, 'they're hairline cracks.' And he was only going to replace 1.  There is only 1 slab that he did that doesn't have a crack.  He said he would come out in 2 weeks to replace the slab, but I feel all slabs should be repaired.  The brickwork, and porch were fine on quality; but the quality of his cement work was poor. These ratings are specific to the cement work he did."

"I can't speak more highly of my experience with HCI and Alvin Ashley in particular. Being a military veteran I felt an immediate camaraderie with Alvin who himself is a veteran. As part of quoting the job he walked my wife and I through the entire process start to finish. He covered in detail what would happen at every step of the process including what materials would be used and why they were the right choice. Though he quotes jobs now, his experience as a roofer clearly showed as he easily fielded the dozen or so questions that I had. I live in a historic home in Farmington. Alvin did not employ any of the normal salesmen BS like starting at twice the real price or pretending to call his boss to bring the price down. His starting number was extremely reasonable and very close to my estimate. After some very brief negotiations I singed a contract to have the work done that very evening. I have several out buildings on my property and have every intention of calling Alvin back when it is time to replace those roofs."
