"Our kitchen cabinet refinishing project was a combo of refacing existing as well as painting new cabinets. I purchased all new doors and drawer fronts and they came paint ready. Jason was a great creative adviser on the project and we enjoyed his artistic expertise in addition to his superior painting skills. His pricing was very fair and we had other quotes to do the same work that were much higher. The finished product far exceeded our expectations and my wife and I now look at our kitchen and marvel at how amazing it looks. For future refinishing projects I will not hesitate to hire Jason once again."

"They were great. The kitchen came out better than I expected. There was one or two small delays, but in the big picture it was worth the wait."

"Eric Vasquez (EJV) is an excellent repairman. Whenever I need work done he does it and he is very fair on pricing. We even had an issue after (bad fan) and he replaced the fan FOR FREE (attic fan). I will be calling him for many more jobs in Salorsburg, PA (He is in East Stroudsburg, PA listing as "EJV")"

"RUN WHILE YOU CAN!!!!!!!!!! Lori is very unprofessional. I was trying to book an appointment with their company to have services done. She yelled and screamed at me repeatedly. She even got me confused with another customer telling me I told her 1 thing when we hadn't even spoken because she delayed getting in contact with my landlord for preapproval. After our 1st encounter I started not to do business with this company but I went ahead on giving them the benefit of the doubt. So I made an appointment which she stated the job would take 3 hrs it took the entire day. 1 guy (Tom) came to isolate and sand down everything then (John) did the refinishing and glazing. Upon completion John left the isolation paper up stated that we needed to wait until it dried the tear down the paper. I would think the same way you came in contact with my bathroom is the same way you should leave it but ok. So about 1 hr after John left Me and My husband came to realize that there were 3 boot prints in the bed of the tub under the sealer. We immediately called John back to which he stated "We must have stepped in the tub". I was highly annoyed because we paid out of pocket and this was a low accusation to make as we never asked for money back but infact just for the job to be done properly. I took the day off from work and now was very unsatisfied as a customer. John grew Irate so my husband called him several times to which he ignored. I called him and he answered I gave my husband the phone and John referred to us as "YOU PEOPLE" and that he'd give us our money back and for us to never call them again. Lori left a nasty voicemail on my phone and also called my landlord saying that we were scammers and she'd better watch out as if we'd do the same to her. It was a very disgusting encounter with these 2. They offered to come back the next day to which I declined due to their behavior the previous day and the hate filled language they used as reference to me and my family. I just chalk it up as a loss but I would NEVER EVER recommend PERMA GLAZE/PERMA BATH. Perma Glaze Corporate says they were once franchisee and they were let go because they have horrible reviews and complaints lodged against them. BEWARE TAKE YOU MONEY ELSEWHERE!!!!!"

"MASTER BATH/BEDROOM - Pro Design Gruppo referred Jerry Gross of JLG Construction dba JLG Carpentry to finish Master Bath/Bedroom. JLG Carpentry's work needs to be redone due to improper materials used, inexperience skill of workmanship along with incomplete work. Pro Design Gruppo then referred Myers Custom Carpentry. Pro Design Gruppo bid on the job and subbed it to Myers Custom Carpentry. The job for repairing the Master Bath/Bedroom was bid out to Pro Design Gruppo for material, labor and paying Pro Design Gruppo for travel and housing. Three days was to be spent on the job repairing and fixing the mishap of JLG Carpentry. Upon beginning the job, instead of staying on the job and overseeing Myers Custom Carpentry as originally agreed upon, Pro Design Gruppo spent 1 1/2 days perusing potential clients along with taking Myers Custom Carpentry off the job for more than several hours to bid on a possible new job. Based on unforeseen issues and taking Myers off the job, additional time was needed to complete the job. When scheduling for a return visit, Myers Custom Carpentry arrived over 6 hours late due to a re-visit to a potential client while Pro Design Gruppo never showed up to supervise as originally agreed upon. Its unfortunate that Pro Design Gruppo started out with potentially assisting in a unfortunate situation that was created by his referral of JLG Carpentry but he then took advantage of the situation by setting up appointments, visiting potential clients in the hopes of creating possible new jobs for himself while this job remains unfinished."

FAQs for cabinets refinish projects in Pocono Summit, PA

To find the best cabinet refinishing expert for your project, start by researching local pros and reading reviews from previous customers. Reach out to a few contractors to discuss your cabinets' size, condition, and the look you're aiming for. Don't hesitate to ask for references or examples of their past work. Speaking with previous clients can give you valuable insights into the pro's workmanship and reliability.

When speaking with potential cabinet refinishing pros, consider asking them several questions to gauge their experience and professionalism. These questions can help you gauge the pro's experience and determine if they align with your needs.

  • Do you offer a guarantee on your work?

  • Can you create custom finishes or colors?

  • Do you have examples or samples of your past projects?

  • Are you able to match the finish to other cabinets in my home?

  • How long will the project take from start to finish?

Regular care will help maintain the beauty of your cabinets for years to come. To keep your refinished cabinets looking their best, follow these steps:

  • Use gentle cleaners: Avoid abrasive cleaners or harsh chemicals that can damage the finish. A simple mixture of warm water and mild dish soap works well.

  • Clean carefully: Instead of spraying solutions directly onto the cabinets, apply them to a soft microfiber cloth and wipe gently.

  • Protect from heat and moisture: Try to minimize exposure to excessive heat or moisture, which can affect the finish over time.

It's usually less costly to refinish cabinets than to replace them, depending on the cabinet condition. Refinishing cabinets cost an average of $3,114 while replacing cabinets is about $5,000 or more. When deciding to refinish or replace cabinets, consider several factors, including how old your cabinets are, your budget, and whether you need to complete any other renovation projects at the same time.

It may be worth resurfacing (also known as refacing) your cabinets if they’re in good shape but you’re interested in a different look. This is often less expensive than replacing cabinets outright and can allow you to update the look of your cabinets to reflect your kitchen’s current style without having to get rid of them entirely. The cost to reface cabinets is around $4,300 to $10,000, and you can hire a local cabinet refacing pro to handle this work.

Refinishing cabinets takes about two to three days to complete. The process begins with removing cabinet doors, drawers, and hardware, followed by cleaning, stripping, and sanding the surfaces. Any chips, stains, or splits are repaired before applying paint or stain. After applying the finish, the cabinets are reassembled, and the workspace is cleaned up, leaving your cabinets refreshed and renewed.
