I’m so impressed with how quickly he was able to get this project knocked out, which invoked A LOT more than simply hanging a new door. The door frame and trim work was all absolutely decrepit, and there was a good size chunk of damaged wall (what was left of it, anyway).and I don’t even know what else., but it was an absolute mess. Now the entire entry way looks brand new. I can’t overstate how great everything looks. In addition to the quality of his work, Kevin is wonderful . He’s punctual, clean, quick, and quiet. Communication and scheduling were easy breezy. The total Cost (labor and supplies) was very reasonable, and It was money well spent. He’s definitely going to be our go-to guy for future projects and repairs."

"They were very friendly. The work is good. Although I voiced some concerns I have but nothing was done about my concerns. I basically have a non functional ramp. In my opinion. My concern were if the wheelchair could go in and out the door. Then the ramp ends at the end of cement slab. So you have to go off slab into grass and then on the ramp. I can't push it in the grass and that area floods when it rains. Then I asked about handrails and was told it would have them But only half the ramp has handrails. Then on the side rails on ramp are off center which makes it look unfinished like it's missing a rail. Also questioned a soft spot with a small lip . That's all it was was addressed nothing else. I was told they would fix it so I wouldn't have to go in the grass but that never happened. That was over a month ago and haven't heard from him since."

Historical districts and some homeowners associations may have additional requirements or restrictions.
For a DIY interior door installation, you'll need basic tools including a tape measure, level, power drill with various bits, screwdriver set, hammer, utility knife, and shims. You might also need a saw for trimming the door if necessary, sandpaper for smoothing edges, and a chisel for creating hinge mortises. Having a helper makes the job considerably easier, especially when positioning and holding the door during installation.
When measuring for a replacement door, determine whether you need just the door slab or a pre-hung unit that includes the frame. For a slab door, measure the width, height, and thickness of your existing door. For a pre-hung door, measure the width and height of the rough opening (from stud to stud and floor to header). Also note the swing direction—whether the door opens to the left or right when facing it from the outside of the room.
