"I had a drain that had been slow for months gradually getting worse.  I had done all I knew to do.  A few months earlier, I had called a different plumber who had put in some drain cleaner, charged $200, and would not return my calls when it stopped again later that afternoon.  Ray Miller's men used a plumber's snake and unstopped it quickly and it is still flowing well,  a week later."

"Jay called and let me know his estimated time he would arrive and he was here on the nose. I live with my elderly mother 91, and not having the bathrooms working was an immediate problem to say the least. He explained what he was going to do and how much it would cost. And was very knowledgeable, friendly and even my dobe thought she’d made a new best friend. Before long he had the mess broken up and flowing. All toilets were flushing and the pipe was cleared in no time. I couldn’t be happier! I would not hesitate to call them again if I have any other plumbing issues. My house is old and at some point I can see having to redo some of the plumbing and I know I will be using this company when the time comes. Thanks a million Jay!"

"Albert Gaston (Al) and his crews were professional and worked non-stop to complete the job. Double A uses different crews for pressure washing, prep, and the painting. We had many days of rain which slowed the progress of the job, but the final result was beautiful. The wood repairs were numerous and Al, a skilled carpenter, does these repairs. I'd have to say that our house looks better than it ever did when we bought it fourteen years ago.  <br />    Al is good about checking the work his crews are doing each day and/or weekly, and making sure you are happy with the work. We took several walk-arounds to be sure nothing had been missed with Al."

"I was frustrated that they didn't cover our garbage disposal and they didn't cover the thermostat, otherwise everything we did there was great. I didn't have any problems. It's $50 a month, and then everything is covered. You don't have to pay for people to come out. When our hot water heater broke, we had to pay for the new water heater, but that just for the actual thing, not anything else like the service or installation."

"The project went very well, and we are very pleased with the final product. A large master bathroom and office were added on to the master bedroom. The current master bath was flipped around, so there was a second bathroom for the children. Kitchen cabinets were repainted in the process as well. The only hiccup was the plumber used. We had to eventually find our own because the regular one Tramco uses was delaying the project by not showing up at times."

FAQs for plumbing installation for a remodel or addition projects in Poplarville, MS

Adding bathroom plumbing to a detached garage starts with the basic line installation cost of $900 to $1,300. On top of this base expense, you'll need to budget for each fixture. A toilet costs  $250 to $550, sinks cost $150 to $800, and a shower or bathtub costs $400 to $1,900. The project will also require ventilation, moisture-resistant materials, and possibly electrical work. Remember that these costs reflect only the plumbing aspects—additional construction, finishing, and permitting expenses will apply to complete a functional bathroom space.

While certain aspects of garage renovation might be suitable for DIY enthusiasts, plumbing installation requires professional expertise. Connecting to water and sewer systems demands specialized knowledge and equipment, and improper installation can result in severe water damage, code violations, and potential health hazards. Most municipalities require permits for plumbing modifications, and these often stipulate that licensed professionals must perform work. Consider limiting your involvement to simpler tasks like painting or basic finishing work.

The timeframe for adding plumbing to a detached garage spans one to three days for the actual plumbing work. However, this represents only the active installation period. The complete project timeline must account for planning, obtaining permits (which can take weeks depending on your locality), coordinating multiple contractors if needed, and addressing any unexpected challenges that arise during installation. Weather conditions can also impact excavation and outdoor connection work.

Adding plumbing to a detached garage will likely increase your property taxes. Tax assessors consider plumbing an improvement that enhances property value and functionality. The specific tax impact varies by location and project scope. Converting a garage into living space with plumbing facilities can trigger significant reassessment in many jurisdictions. Before proceeding with your project, consult your local tax assessor's office to understand the potential tax implications and factor this ongoing expense into your decision-making process.
