Small jobs welcome

"Jeff was fantastic! My project in Clallam Bay was a total gut and remodel of a home built in 1916. There were many issues that came to light as the past layers were peeled away and Jeff dealt with them all in a professional and calm manner. His work ethic is impeccable, as is the attention he pays to details. He was always available if I had questions, and kept me informed throughout the project. Jeff went above and beyond my expectations and at a fair price point to boot! I would definitely hire him again and highly recommend him for any projects that you need done."

"Incredibly well. We had just remodeled the bathrooms. Another local company removed the toilets for us and was scheduled to install new faucets. Their plumber installed the new kitchen faucet - wrong - and it did not work correctly. He made a horrible mess in the bathrooms. We asked him to leave. And when we talked to his supervisor, she defended his work. <br /> We called Mr. Tucker and explained we had a 'clean up' job. We were so pleased with his work. He made sure the work space was protected before he started. It took no time for him to correct the kitchen faucet. He corrected the first bathroom faucet - said it just takes 'patience' to do it correctly. Installed the other two faucets and left no mess behind. We should have called him first. <br /> <br />"

"Joel Roberson was the best contractor I have ever worked with, hands down.  Although he was a sub-contractor on a total home remodel he responded to my calls when I was unable to get in touch with my contractor.  Joel was punctual, completed the work efficiently and did beautiful work-above and beyond what was expected. For instance, he moved drain lines under the bath cabinets to gain me maximum storage space, he grouted around the toilets so that the grout line was barely visible.  And Joel made multiple trips in order to accommodate our schedule.  I can't say enough good things about Joel. <br />"

"Allied Plumbing (formerly O'neil Plumbing in Moses Lake area) is one of the best plumbing services my company has ever used. Allied was able to schedule a job on short notice, showed up on time, did a thorough job and charged a fair price. What else can you ask for from a plumbing company! Well, how about a follow up call from the owner/manager, Ron Smiley, insuring the job was done to satisfaction and then going on to explain a whole host of extraordinary plumbing services that I was not aware of. Like being to do lateral sewer connections, including trenchless sewer line repairs, anything to do with water pumps, and commercial plumbing services. Ron is a smart business man that understands the value of long term relationships."

FAQs for plumbing installation for a remodel or addition projects in Port Angeles, WA

Adding bathroom plumbing to a detached garage starts with the basic line installation cost of $900 to $1,300. On top of this base expense, you'll need to budget for each fixture. A toilet costs  $250 to $550, sinks cost $150 to $800, and a shower or bathtub costs $400 to $1,900. The project will also require ventilation, moisture-resistant materials, and possibly electrical work. Remember that these costs reflect only the plumbing aspects—additional construction, finishing, and permitting expenses will apply to complete a functional bathroom space.

While certain aspects of garage renovation might be suitable for DIY enthusiasts, plumbing installation requires professional expertise. Connecting to water and sewer systems demands specialized knowledge and equipment, and improper installation can result in severe water damage, code violations, and potential health hazards. Most municipalities require permits for plumbing modifications, and these often stipulate that licensed professionals must perform work. Consider limiting your involvement to simpler tasks like painting or basic finishing work.

The timeframe for adding plumbing to a detached garage spans one to three days for the actual plumbing work. However, this represents only the active installation period. The complete project timeline must account for planning, obtaining permits (which can take weeks depending on your locality), coordinating multiple contractors if needed, and addressing any unexpected challenges that arise during installation. Weather conditions can also impact excavation and outdoor connection work.

Adding plumbing to a detached garage will likely increase your property taxes. Tax assessors consider plumbing an improvement that enhances property value and functionality. The specific tax impact varies by location and project scope. Converting a garage into living space with plumbing facilities can trigger significant reassessment in many jurisdictions. Before proceeding with your project, consult your local tax assessor's office to understand the potential tax implications and factor this ongoing expense into your decision-making process.
