"Had all the windows in my home replaced. Love the product and the installers were great. Do believe I paid to much for the windows. Would probably have spent more time researching before such a large project. Windows do look great and love the double hung feature."

"ASAP Renovating was with us from ideation to finishing and we couldn't be happier with the results. My wife and I had never experienced a remodel before and had no idea what to expect, how to get started, or even what we wanted to change in the house. Louis and Tammy were very patient and took the time to meet with us several times over a couple of months to iron out the details, provide us with plenty of options, and build a solid kitchen and living room remodel plan. As is the case with any remodel, there were unforeseeable issues that came up during the project, and for us, it was a rotted subfloor and a severely clogged drainpipe. ASAP Renovating notified us as soon as these issues were discovered, explained the consequences, provided us with several options and their costs, and gave a professional recommendation. Despite those issues, the project went more smoothly than I had anticipated and ended up on time, at budget, and of high quality. I highly recommend ASAP Renovating Solutions."

"We hired Surfside to build all of the custom cabinets in our new home. The whole experience from the beginning, visiting Johnston workshop, to the install was more than we could have asked for. We are into our 9th year in our home and not one problem with any of the cabinets. If we ever built again, Surfside, along with our sheetrocker, would be the ONLY contractors we would use."

"We got bids from several different companies. All the others took what we told them and parroted back our thoughts on design with their cost estimate. Stacy of Cabinet Alternatives took what was bothering us about the space and made a completely unique design that went well beyond our expectations. He was meticulous in laying out the design, anticipating where problems might arise and in keeping us informed about what was going to happen at each stage. We elected to do the demolition to save some money but even there, Stacy guided us on what to do and what to avoid that his subcontractors would handle later. Stacy was on the job virtually every single day, if something arose with a sub--he was here to work it out. Every contractor that came to our house was professional, friendly and every single one cleaned up as best they could at the end of each day. You hear so many horror stories about remodeling gone bad. While it isn't fun being without a kitchen for a month, I cannot envision this project going any smoother. A great design, professional craftsmanship and quality products---all put together and managed by Stacy Gallagher of Cabinet Alternatives. I am confident that if you talk with him, you will get more than you expect."

FAQs for cabinets reface projects in Port Aransas, TX

Absolutely. Refacing returns 65% to 80% of your investment at resale, and you get an updated kitchen right now. Because you’re not paying for new boxes or demo work, the price lands well below complete replacement but still delivers a fresh, custom look that buyers—and you—notice every time you walk in.

To trim costs, start by pricing a high-quality paint or gel stain instead of full refacing—stain alone can be one-third the price of full refacing. Keep existing hinges and pulls if they’re in good shape, and shop sales for sandpaper, primer, and sealer. The sweat equity is real, but so are the savings, and a careful DIY job can still leave your cabinets looking sharp for years to come.

A professional crew needs only three to five days to reface a standard kitchen, although a larger layout or intricate door style may add one to two days. Compare that with the several weeks a full cabinet swap can drag on. In other words, you get your space back fast, often before the paint on the new doors is even fully cured.

Yes, you can replace just the cabinet doors and drawer fronts without covering the cabinet boxes. Cabinet refacing involves installing new doors and drawer fronts while applying veneers to existing cabinet boxes. If you’re satisfied with the condition of your cabinets, swapping doors and drawer fronts reduces labor and materials, saving you time and cost. Always consult a professional to confirm compatibility and ensure a seamless, high-quality finish.

Most cabinet refacing projects do not require removing countertops because professionals can access doors and drawers around existing surfaces. However, if your countertop overhang prevents full access to the cabinet boxes, contractors may need to lift the countertop to install veneers properly temporarily. Discuss this with your refacing specialist during the on-site estimate so you know exactly what the project entails.
