"AquaProof gives 1st class service and quality It is rare for me to find a contractor that goes above and beyond my expectations. Danny and his team at AquaProof wildly exceeded them. My daughter recently bought a house in Covington built in 1890. The structural inspection showed a dire need to have the stacked rock wall fortified and waterproofed. Several companies in the foundation and structural repair business declined to bid on the jobdue to the complexity and risk involved. AquaProof knew exactly what to do and how to do it. The quote was fair and in line with other quotes that I’d received. What sold me on Aquaproof was their solution would give me better quality and security that the repair was done correctly The crew that did the work was amazing. There were glitches and unexpected problems but they knew how to resolve them; they did so at no additional cost even though to tool more time and materials. The communication and attention to detail during the two days of the job was excellent. When finished they went above and beyond by repairing the landscape. This is a good company with good people and excellent service. You should definitely consider them for what you need. Jim Murray"

"We saw the coupon in our Angie's List booklet for either a free plumbing service call or $ 93 sewer drain cleaning. Our kitchen sink drain was clogged so we thought we would give Jarboe's a try. They arrived when they said they would. Took the serviceman about 20 minutes to unclog our drain. Our bill was 309.00! That included a "FREE" service call. We felt we were over charged. We will definitely not ever call Jarboe's again. We would warn you about using their coupon. It is misleading in what your final cost will be. In the future we will try Roto Rooter, or any other plumbing company, just not Jarboe's! <br />"

"No problems with the quality of the work or the time it took, but it was surprisingly expensive. So much so that I almost regretted having the work done. The plumber found the shut-off valves inoperable and began replacing them without telling me about it or the additional cost. I should have looked over his shoulder more often and asked more questions, but I did not. Any repairman beginning additional repairs without asking really rubs me the wrong way and leads to a "B" rating at best and a "No" on hiring again. Learn from my mistake: make certain that you do your research on pricing and agree on a price range and scope of work with Geiler (or anyone, for that matter) before they begin the work."

"The plumbmer was very customer oriented and pleasant conversationalist. When he could not trouble shoot the problem, he called Moen Company and stayed on the phone with them to attempt to solve the problem. When the problem could not be solve, he had Moen send me a new replacement faucet. Water was leaking around so he recaulked the bowl. he was hear 2 hours. Labor cost was $130. and supllies were $63.68. I will use Dand R services in the future. <br />"

"Environmental Testing & Research Laboratories, Inc. sent a package with 2 vials and instructions for collecting the samples.  I collected the samples as instructed, completed a questionnaire, and returned the sample vials as instructed.  A week or two later they sent the analysis.  Everything went as expected.  There were no problems. <br />"

"Job was handled well and professionally overall. One quibble would be that the trench was not backfilled evenly; I had to wait for a couple of rains to settle the dirt, then shovel the high spots over to low spots myself. The trench had to curve to skirt the edge of a large septic field, but they did the digging with a large backhoe without damaging any of the lines in the septic field or affecting its operation. They provided a frost proof faucet for the new hose bib without my having to ask for it. An unnecessary S-curve in the shop end of the conduit made it harder to pull my communication lines through, but I was able to do it. They also do electrical work, which I have also found satisfactory on a separate job."

FAQs for plumbing installation for a remodel or addition projects in Port-royal, KY

Adding bathroom plumbing to a detached garage starts with the basic line installation cost of $900 to $1,300. On top of this base expense, you'll need to budget for each fixture. A toilet costs  $250 to $550, sinks cost $150 to $800, and a shower or bathtub costs $400 to $1,900. The project will also require ventilation, moisture-resistant materials, and possibly electrical work. Remember that these costs reflect only the plumbing aspects—additional construction, finishing, and permitting expenses will apply to complete a functional bathroom space.

While certain aspects of garage renovation might be suitable for DIY enthusiasts, plumbing installation requires professional expertise. Connecting to water and sewer systems demands specialized knowledge and equipment, and improper installation can result in severe water damage, code violations, and potential health hazards. Most municipalities require permits for plumbing modifications, and these often stipulate that licensed professionals must perform work. Consider limiting your involvement to simpler tasks like painting or basic finishing work.

The timeframe for adding plumbing to a detached garage spans one to three days for the actual plumbing work. However, this represents only the active installation period. The complete project timeline must account for planning, obtaining permits (which can take weeks depending on your locality), coordinating multiple contractors if needed, and addressing any unexpected challenges that arise during installation. Weather conditions can also impact excavation and outdoor connection work.

Adding plumbing to a detached garage will likely increase your property taxes. Tax assessors consider plumbing an improvement that enhances property value and functionality. The specific tax impact varies by location and project scope. Converting a garage into living space with plumbing facilities can trigger significant reassessment in many jurisdictions. Before proceeding with your project, consult your local tax assessor's office to understand the potential tax implications and factor this ongoing expense into your decision-making process.
