"First time hiring a cleaner. Maria was here for 5.5 hours for standard & deep cleaning combined. Thought it was odd she walked right in, didn't knock or ring doorbell, but if she does this at the same home repeatedly they may have told to her to come on in all the time, but for a first & only one time cleaning I found this weird, but I understood, so be prepared. Some things i.e. kitchen counter looked clean on my end, but it was not and she did not wipe it down, but I didn't realize until after she left. Everything looked good before she left, I didn't know what to do at the end i.e. walk around with her to inspect, plus it was after 9pm and I wanted to go to bed. She cleaned the most noticeable problems, but left the rest undone, upon closer inspection you could tell it wasn't done. I paid for a standard and deep clean everywhere, but received only a standard clean. They should have sent more than one person, but for one person and hired on short notice, it was acceptable this once."

FAQs for post construction clean up projects in Port Salerno, FL

Plan on one hour of cleaning for every 100 to 200 square feet. That means a two-to-four-person crew will spend eight to 12 hours on a full-size home.

Your pro will walk the space first, size it up, and give you a more precise timeline to be sure every lofty ceiling, baseboard, and tight corner gets the same white-glove attention.

Cleaning fine dust after construction requires a combined approach of detailed dusting and high‐powered vacuuming. Begin by wiping high surfaces such as ceiling fans, walls, window sills, and countertops to eliminate deposited particles. Next, vacuum all floors, carpets, and hard surfaces and mop afterward to remove residual dust. Finally, clean HVAC returns, supply vents, and replace filters to ensure a completely dust‐free environment.

You’ll need safety gear and heavy-duty tools. At minimum, you should wear a respirator, eye protection, and work gloves. Then, bring in a HEPA-filter shop vac, wet mops, microfiber cloths, and a carpet shampooer to lift dust from every surface.

Pros also keep extra filters and trash bags on hand so they can swap them out mid-job and keep the cleanup running smoothly from start to finish.

Book your post-construction cleanup for one to two days after the last tool leaves the site. That 24- to 48-hour buffer lets dust settle so the crew can snag every speck in one visit.

Touch base with your contractor before you lock in a date; if their punch-list slips, you’ll want to shift the cleaning slot to avoid costly rescheduling and make sure the house is truly move-in ready.
